I am wondering if it seems unusual that my one twin girl, Sonora was 5lbs 8oz at birth is now almost 10 lbs at 6wks. Her twin sister, Elliana, was 5lbs 6ozs at birth and is now close to 8lbs. I just wondered if it seems unusual that she is so much bigger and at only 6 wks. They both eat 4 oz at each feeding. I pump and give breast milk for day feedings and formula for 3 evening feedings. I never gave formula to any of my other kids so I am not sure if this is just because of adding some formula to their diet.

Our boys have consitantly been a little over 1lb and 1inch different since birth. Our pedi says as long as they are both growing at each visit it's ok, they may or may not catch up. We think they are fraternal, that might be the reason-jsut like any other sibling.

    What does your pedi say?
    Congrats with your twins!!

Sounds like the rate at which my twins grew at the beginning. My son was 5 lbs 14 oz at birth and was up to 10 lbs at 4 weeks. My daughter was 5 lbs 6 oz and around 8 lbs at 4 wks. We were told they'll grow how they're gonna grow and they'll eat when they're hungry and stop when they're full. It wasn't because of anything we were doing. Now at 9 months, my daughter is a giant compared to my son.

Mine were 5-15 and 6-6 at birth. At their 6 month check up there was exactly 4 pounds difference! 13-11 and 17-11. The pediatrician wasn't concerned at all and neither am I. They are 2 completely different kids. One takes after me (the big one) and one takes after her dad. And the smaller one eats more than the bigger one at almost every feeding. I wouldn't be worried about it.

There was always 1 to 2 lbs difference between my twins until recently. There is now only an 8 ounce differnce.

Maybe she is going to be a bigger girl, nothing wrong with that she sounds healthy to me!

Hi there, when my twins were born they were 6lb 3oz and 6lb 10oz. By the time they were one month old they were up to 8.5 and 9 lb, and at their 2 month visit, they were 12 and 12.5 lb. They climbed the percentile ranks from 5-10th percentile at birth to 50th and 70th at 2 months. I have been feeding nothing but breastmilk. I think that they just ran out of room to grow inside me and now that they have more room, they are "catching up" on their growth, maybe where they would have been if they were singletons. I was concerned about mine at the time, but now I just know they are going to be big guys!
