My twin skin and stretch marks look awful!! I miss my old stomach. Besides surgery - do you have any tips? The stretch marks are really bad (I was ALL babies).

    One piece bathing suit, LOL.

I was all baby too (you couldn't tell I was pregnant from the back and couldn't help but laugh at my enormity from the side). My stretch marks go from my belly button to my pubic hair and from hip to hip. They have faded considerably, but I tried every market gimmick and found nothing but a lighter pocketbook at the end of the day.

It's depressing to have lost my sexy belly...but I get over it quickly when I see my adorable boys and realize I'm not doing any fashion magazing photo shoots. ;)

I tried exercise and diet religiously. I finally came to the conclusion that only surgery would repair the 2 inch muscle separation. It's been 8 days since my surgery.

I've not had time to do any exercise at all since 2004! But I got a great body suit that smushes it all back in place and isn't uncomfortable. And we're in luck, long tunic style shirts seem to have come back in. Even without the twin skin, I'm very happy to see midriff go!

I had the twin skin thing, no stretch marks but tons of extra skin. The more weight I lost, the worse it looked.

I had a tummy tuck last January. Amazing.

I think it's possible to lose the weight and firm the muscles, but only surgery can rid you of the skin.

Since I gave birth to my girls I have been using Mustela Stretch Mark creme. They sell it at BRU. It is a little expensive, but I think its worth it. I have already noticed a difference and I am only 6 weeks pp. HTH!

I can't wait to get my tummy tuck. I am not overweight but the twin skin and muscle seperation is never going to get better without surgery.

No advice, but if you find a magic cure be sure and let us all know!! :)

Sorry, only surgery can correct loose skin and stretched-out tissue... frankly, if I had only stretch marks, I would be very happy (my bikini days are long over and not missed; however, I would like to wear a one-piece suit again without embarrassment!).

I hope to have my tummy tuck next year (what a glorious day that will be - I'm tired of wearing maternity pants 2 1/2 years after the twins were born!)

Is it true a tummy tuck will be like a c-section as far as recovery? For those who had it - how do you feel?

Since we're on the subject, does anyone else's belly button look really, really bad? Maybe it's because mine popped out? It's saggy, and wrinkled, and just looks destroyed. Not that I care much these days. My days are a little too busy to think about it much. But I just find it perplexing.

Yes, my belly button is "destroyed". I can't even explain it; it's just gross. My whole stomach is depressing. The more weight I lose the WORSE it gets, which is really unfair!! I've worked my butt off to drop 21 pounds now my skin is just more wrinkled and sagging lower than before. UGH!!

Has anyone tried the "Lose your Mummy Tummy" exercises? I bought the DVD but have not found the time to watch it yet...

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since my surgery, so it's all fresh in my mind.
I didn't have a c-section so I can't compare. Immediately after the surgery, I felt like I had done 2000 sit-ups. But each day was better and better. I had my bandages off 8 days after the surgery. It truly looks amazing. Completely flat, with a thin incision low and across the whole abdomen. I feel great. I worked 5 hours on Friday and went to a baby shower yesterday. Tomorrow I start back to work full time. But I know I'm still healing and am tired at the end of the day. I would do it all again in a heartbeat...and I haven't even seen the full results. :D

Wow! That's great about how the tummy tuck worked for you! So it's not that painful?

I totally understand as I am dealing with the skin too. I do crunches for back strengthening and there is nothing yuckier than feeling the loose skin, it sucks. How much are tummy tucks going for these days?
