Is it just me or are twin moms some sort of superhero's? Sorry, I'm new at this and I'm in constant amazement of these babies and of what I'm capable of. I never would have known that this strength and patience was inside of me. This is the hardest work I've ever done and I am so humbled by it. I can't believe these two are mine. They are so perfect and wonderful. Hard as heck...but wonderful.

...written after 2 hours of colic crying by 2 babies while hubby's out of town...forgive me tooting my own horn. It's not that I'm overly proud of myself I just honestly and blown away that women actually do this day in and day out and don't take out a billboard advertising how amazing they are.

Hats off to all of you.

Yes, you are a superhero! And you totally deserve to blow your own horn a bit. If you can do this, you can do ANYTHING! :yahoo:

Toot-toot!!! We all deserve a little self-given pat on the back now and then. I'm taking classes and my teacher knows that I have two baby girls. She was speaking to a bunch of us saying that she understands it's hard, but you do what you gotta do....she then turns to me and says, "I have no idea how you're holding it together." I just replied that this was NOTHING compared to the first 2 or 3 months of infant babies with colic! And then I rolled my eyes and said, "Honestly, I have no idea either."

Normally, I'd be embarrassed by the acknowledgement, but it felt good to see that someone was impressed! She's a twin, so I guess she understands....

    Keep on keepin' on!!!

YAY for twin moms! I'm not sure how I'm doing this either, but my babies seem to be happy, healthy, and growing. And you deserve a huge pat on the back for making it through an evening of colic in stereo with no DH around for relief!

I have to agree... I serioulsy never dreamt it was going to be so easy to be honest. I hate saying that all the time but at 6.5 months it has been a great ride. Of course i had no colic, no AR, no spitting up so issues except some gassiness from Savannah... I feel blessed that they are both so well behaved to be honest... After almost 4 years of infertility i thank god that something went right. i was prepared for the worse of everything and i feel i finally got the best of it...

As a survivor of my own colicky twins (and married to a medical resident who is NEVER home) ... I don't know how I did it! There were days where I just cried for hours with them. They are such cute girls though ... and they better be darned glad they are, right?! HA HA! They would cry from noon until one or two AM and now at almost 4 months are still suffering from all that sleep deprivation but it gets better and better every day ... now they smile & coo & giggle and there is just nothing like it. Toot-toot!! HA HA! Oh, and they go to bed at 8PM ... ahhhh, to have a life again, it is nice!

    Toot away!!!! :clapping:

I agree...it's amazing what we're capable of. When my boys were two months old, I was amazed at how much I could function on little to no sleep!

I am right there with you - it IS amazing what we accomplish and on no sleep! People who have not had multiples have no clue, really!

and you do deserve some horn tooting for surviving colic w/no relief!
