My 8 month old bit me twice today, she loves to pull hair, pinch, scratch...just an all out agressive little one  thankfully its mainly me on the recieving end, she hasnt worked out yet to do it to her sister.
Any advice on how to deal with this, I say 'no' to her but I dont think she understand, or maybe I am kidding myself.
    Anyway would love any advice.

Oh and I should say when she bit me, she bit my neck and shoulder.

What I do, is tell them gentle when they are rough. So if they bite, pinch etc, I take their hand rub it softly over the area they did it to and say gentle. I repeat it about 3 times while moving their hand. This does work. I did it with my oldest as well.

I agree with PP suggestions. The only other thing I could think of is maybe putting her down for a minute or two and walking away from her. Is she being mean about it? Or is it in a funny way? I don't know how to word it. Annabella has bit me once or twice(or three times!) but when she's done it, it's been in a playful way. I still tell her no, but she thinks she's being funny/silly, if that makes any sense.

Same as above - I say "gentle" while prompting them to touch me gently. I DO think my 9 month old girl understands "no" (although I don't think my boy does). for example, if she picks up a shoe to eat, I say, "no no" and she stops and looks at me. But I have to get up and take the shoe or she will go back to eating it!

I would use this approach for the hair pulling/scratching/pinching. When she bites you I would say "No" in a firm voice and put her down (or get up and walk away from her if you're on the floor) for a minute.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I will certainly try them and let you know how it goes.

DS was a biter big time around that age. He would draw blood and bruise me :(

I was VERY firm and said NO in a louder and deeper voice than normal, set him down, didnt make eye contact for a min or so and finally after having it said firmly 2 or 3 times it was over. that stage passed really quick for us. However now he still occassionaly lunges for my shoulder, mouth open but its always been when he gets excited so dont take it personally ;)
