I'm wondering if there is a specific thread around here somewhere with birth stories and/or discussions about twin deliveries.

    I'm specifically looking for highlights.

-how did you deliver, c/s v. vaginal
    -how long did you labor
    -how were the children positioned
    etc

No, there is not a thread out there like that (that I know of anyway). When a member gives birth they start their own thread telling of their birth story. :)

I was just wondering the same thing!!! Thank you for asking it! I am almost 28 weeks and I am just starting to entertain the idea of labor and delivery of our twins. One of ours is breech still and I wondered how many twins actually flip after this point and how many will go on to deliver vaginally versus via c-section when the smaller twin is breech....

I know there is no thread, but I can answer your questions on this thread

-how did you deliver, c/s v. vaginal
    C/S at 37 weeks

    -how long did you labor
That's a loaded question for me... :rotflmbo: I went into PTL 5 times, first time being at 24 weeks. I pretty much had contractions my last 3 months

    -how were the children positioned
Baby A was breach, sitting postion and had been since my 28th weeks
Baby B was transverse and had been as well from week 28.

If there is anything else you want to know feel free to send me a PM

how did you deliver, c/s v. vaginalb
by c-section at 35wks6days after water broke

    how long did you labor
was admitted to the hospital the day before due to a weekly NST showing regular contractions. Felt as back pain. goal was to stop labour by pumping full of fluids...didn't work!

    how were the children positioned
    Baby A was breech
    Baby B was transverse
They had been in these positions for most of the pregnancy. I tried EVERYTHING to get them to turn (I really wanted a vaginal birth) but with no luck.

    Scheduled C-Section at 38 weeks

Did not labor as I made it to my scheduled section. I had a c-section with my oldest, so I knew I wasn't going to try a vbac.

Baby A was head down from 30 weeks on. Baby B was still flipping at the last week!

    Good luck!

c/s at 29w6d due to changes in Eve's dopplers. Originally they were prepping me for a vaginal delivery, but while they were setting everything up Lia started having late decels. At that point they gave us the option but strongly recommended doing a section.

No official labor, other than contractions (every 2 minutes) beginning while they were prepping me.

    Both vertex.

    --How did you deliver?
Emergency C-Section at 34w1d due to severe pre-eclampsia.

    --How long did you labor?
I had been having contractions & been dialated for about 3 weeks, but never past 1.5 cm & %50 effaced. I was on procardia to stop the contractions, but in the end I never went into labor.

    --How were the babies positioned?
Baby A was head vertex, and Baby B was breech. We could have done vaginal, but I was too scared of Baby B getting stuck because her head was bigger.

    I delivered vaginallly (induced at 38 +1)

    -how long did you labor
From the initiation of them putting the gel on my cervix to me delivering the 2nd baby it was 6.5 hrs. Actual labor before pushing/delivery was 6.25 hours.

    -how were the children positioned
Baby A was vertex, Baby B was breech. She turned to vertex after A was delivered.

I don't know if you need this info or not, but this was my 2nd labor/delivery. I had one singleton already. They say subsequent labors are shorter and that was the case for us as well. I was induced with my 1st DD as well and I was in labor for 19.5 hrs.

C/S @ 29.5 weeks due to IC PTL

    -how long did you labor
I started feeling mild cramping at 6:30pm, headed to the hossy then. Got there at 7:30 and was 4cm. THey gave me everything to stop labor, but it didn't stop. Delivered the girls at 12:50 and 12:53am and was told I was fully dilated. So the total labor time if I had gone natural would have been 6 hours (with all the meds to stop it.)

    -how were the children positioned
Meg (B) was breech (with no chance of turning since she was literally WEDGED up under my ribs) and Teagan (A) was head down

This time we're hoping for a VBAC and everything is on track so far with both boys head down. It's still early though, so I'm hoping they get comfy in that position and stay there. Last time B was breech from very early on and then wedged herself under my ribs so there was never even a small chance of delivering naturally.

I delivered via scheduled c-section at 38.2 weeks. No labor or any sign of it. The babies were both breech from the get go and never turned so there wasn't an option. they were 6lb 1oz and 6lb 5oz.

how did you deliver, c/s v. vaginal
tried for vaginal, ended up emergency C/S at 37 weeks 3 days

    -how long did you labor
I had contractions since 28 weeks. Real labor, hard to tell.

    -how were the children positioned
Both babies head down. Proplapsed cord on Baby A when water broke, thus the emergency c-section. Absolutely thrilled and blessed to have been close to the OR and in the hospital for the birth. Both babies happy, healthy and no NICU.

-how did you deliver, c/s v. vaginal
I had an induced vaginal delivery at 36weeks 4days due to my blood pressure. The day I delivered I was right on the verge of pre-eclampsia. I forget exactly, but I think I was around 3cm and 80% effaced at that point.
    -how long did you labor
I was started on pitocin around 8am and the doctor broke my water around 100pm. At 300pm I was totally dilated and they wheeled my into the surgical room in case we needed to do an emergency c-section. Baby A was born at 3:29 after about 30 minutes of pushing and Baby B came 8 minutes later. They were 5lb 12oz and 5lb 14oz and did fantastic right after their birth. I didn't do quite so well. My uterus didn't clamp off and I lost a lot of blood and passed out. They were finally able to stop the bleeding and I didn't have any further issues besides weakness from the blood loss. Baby B ended up in the NICU the first night due to hypoglycemia but we were able to take her home the morning after we left the hospital.
    -how were the children positioned
They were vertex/vertex and had been most of my pregnancy. It made it pretty easy for a vaginal delivery and I actually thought it was quite a bit easier than my first delivery.

    Scheduled C/S

    -how long did you labor

No labor. Original c/s date scheduled for 37 wks but was admitted a week early due to Baby B's suddenly slowed growth, my rising BP, and profound swelling.

    -how were the children positioned

Baby A (5 lb 2 oz) was breech; Baby B (4 lb 1 oz) was transverse. Ultrasound estimates were a pound+ heavier.

c/s at 36 weeks 5 days (2 days before my scheduled date)

    -how long did you labor
I had regular contractions for 5 weeks (every 4-7 minutes). I went into labor at 2pm Friday, held the babies in for their daddy to fly home at 11pm that night and they were born at 9am saturday

    -how were the children positioned
    A: vertex
    B: breech

My doc was planning a breech extraction with B, but the day before I went into labor, B was measuring over a pound bigger than A so we changed to a c/s

Cool thread! I love hearing stories too!

Vaginal birth at 39 weeks to the day. Labor was long, brought on by castor oil. Don't know exactly how long, depends what you count. Baby A's water broke at 6AM (no real labor) and she was born 28 hours later. First time mom, unmedicated birth.

Baby A was 6.11 and Baby B was 5.12. They were di-di identicals.

Good luck all you expectant moms!
