    * I already posted this in the Expecting forum, but considering I was really looking for reviews or suggesions that didn't seem to be the appropriate place. ;)*

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good twin carrier? I loved our Baby Bjorn carrier for my girls, but that won't work for two babies. I did do a search for "Twin Carrier" here & didn't really come up with anything, I apologize if this has already been covered. :)

I've seen the MaxiMom carrier & The Weego carrier. They are both pretty expensive & I was hoping for some "reviews" before purchasing one or the other. Thanks!

I bought a Weego twin and found that the babies got VERY heavy in it very quickly, making my walks shorter and shorter. It was very high-quality and worked just like advertised. It was a little hard for me to get both babies in there by myself, but I didn't use it a ton either. We bought two single front carriers and me and DH would each take a baby, or I'd put one in the carrier and stroll the other.

I don't have either of the ones you are looking at, but I can tell you that the moby wrap is what I use and I love it. I wasn't able to lift my babies at all until a couple weeks ago and the moby wrap has helped me be able to carry my babies around when I otherwise couldn't. I often just have one in the wrap and I can carry the other one but I can put both of them in it at the same time. The weight is distributed over a large area of your shoulders which is a lot easier on them than a thin strap. Also, much of the weight is distributed to your hips and it makes wearing it so much more comfortable than a normal snugli type carrier. I strongly suggest you consider this as an alternative. There are many different moby type wraps such as the sleepy wrap and cuddly wrap. If you don't have a large budget, you can even make one yourself which is what I would have done if I hadn't received it as a gift.

I bought the Mountain Urban Double pram (also known as One Tree Hill in some countries) and am very happy with it as it´s so mobile. The drawback is that its heavy but is easily opened though closing it requires getting a practiced hand! It comes with carrycots, seats & rain protector. It holds up to 60kg (132lbs) so it will last sometime which is my intention!

Thanks so much! I wondered about how heavy they would get after awhile. I have a small frame & even the Baby Bjorn carrier with 1 baby would start to wear down my shoulders. Thanks again. :)

Thank you! I've heard a lot about the Moby wrap---the Moby Wrap D, in particular. I'll definitely be checking it out now. Thanks again! ;) I'm not so crafty, so it'll definitely be a purchase for me. lol

Thank you. However, I already have a double stroller---the one you mentioned definitely looks very cool though. ;) I'm really looking for something that I can carry both babies in around the house & have my hands free.....is that possible with twins?!? lol ;) Thanks again.

I second the Moby. (I've got hte regular one, not the D.) I like that I can use it with just one or both of them. It also distributes the weight across your shoulders and back, which helps with the weight. Plus you have a wide piece of fabric secured across your lower back, which provides support there.

I know what you are looking for, I did too... and really it isn't there. I was never comfortable cramming my babies into the same sling, and the funky "one baby on each side and then you can detach them..." nonsense didn't work for me either (seriously, if your babies combined are 1/3 of your weight, spread out over more than your middle, your back and neck will never be the same). I was (AM) a "sling mama", I wore my two eldest until they could walk. With my twins it was so much harder ( and my twins are only 9.5 mos. old ). I could sling one and nurse, and until they were too heavy (and medical problems too severe) that is what we did. Now I only sling my daughter when she is inconsolable (which I rarely do when I am out - twin strollers missing half of their weight rarely steer well). I hope that is of some use to you. I do know of hip slings for when they are older, if you are interested let me know.

I just got the maximom and I find it has its qualities and detriments, just like anything. Dh and I like that it can be used as 2 single carriers when we are both out with the boys. I like that when I'm on my own, I can strap them on and run across the street to visit a neighbor without having to take my huge stroller when I'm just walking 30 feet. It is difficult, though, especially at first to get both of them on. The boys like that they can face inward or outward. I like the versatility.

You may be able to find one used on Craigslist or Ebay for a lot cheaper. Maybe even your local twins club.

Oh sorry, I totally misread your post! Doh! Silly me! You can see I´ve got total twin baby brain going on here! I can´t be of much help there (again!!) as I never invested in one. Hope you find one soon! :)
