I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the Twin Bassinet from Gracco??? I have a standard Pank n Play from my other child but I will buy it if it's worth it. The twin book I'm reading recommends it but I'm not sure how long it can hold both babies! Please help!! Thanks :)

We have one. It worked out okay and I liked that they could be in the same room with us. It really was better than any of the other choices we looked at. My only complaint is that after a certain amount of time, it starts to sag in the middle, which made the boys roll toward the center. But, by then they were ready for the crib and so we just put it up and used the pack and play (got way more use out of that than the actual basinette) up until a few weeks ago.

Does your current pack n play have the upper level "bassinet" feature? I don't see much difference between the twin and standard models except for those cute "twin roofs" and the're more expensive, aren't they? What does the manual say about max weight?

I just got an Arm's Reach co-sleeper on eBay that I will use for my bassinet. Seems to get high marks from those who have needed them and seems to be standard equipment for twins. Max weight is 30lbs for the bassinet. Also serves as a pack n play. Theyre pretty expensive new but a good item to look for used. Just make sure you look for the original model, not the mini (like BRU sells).

Thank you for posting this. I am wondering the same thing.

We also have a standard PNP left over from DD and I am wondering whether to get the twin one or buy a second regular one. I would love to put the kids together until they reach the weight limit, but I am wondering what I would do if they had to be separated due to sleep differences.

My issue is I want them to be in the Bassinet as long as possible because their room is right next to my toddler's. So, I'm assuming the weight limit for the double bassinet is higher than a standard. That will determine if I buy it I guess!! I heard from someone else it sags in the middle :(

I have found that pretty much anything(with a few notable exceptions) that carries a "Twin this-or-that" label is just repackaging/remarketing to sell more. The only two things we have bought two of are cribs and bassinets, and I've not bought anything labelled "Twin" at all (unless you count our stroller). It's just personal preference and budget I'd imagine.

I was looking at the specs for the twin bassinet and it looks like EACH bassinet holds 15 lbs for a total of 30. But it is not clear...... it doesn't seem to make sense that it wouldn't hold more weight than the single PNP since there are two babies in there.

The one thing I don't like about the twin bassinet is that the babies are not actually together- there are two little pods in the bassinet.

I've been looking and the regular playards only hold 15lbs in the top area, where the twin holds 30. I'm just not sure it's worth $200+.

I'm planning on using my regular pack and play and getting a piece of thin plywood to put on the top part. I did it with my daughter's PNP at her daycare since she sleeps in it everyday. I wanted to make sure it didn't sag. You just have to make sure that it is the exact size as the pad so it doesn't leave any safety cracks. At my daughter's daycare, her PNP is in the best condition! And she's 30 lbs at 2.5 yrs so I know it will hold twins... at least until they get into their cribs.

My Co-sleeper was worth it's weight in gold! I loved that they were together in the bassinet, and could be in there together far longer than the PnP. I don't know anything about the Graco one. The things that were really nice about the co-sleeper were the increased weight allowance, the way it straps to your bed, and that it's a great, sturdy playpen long after it's a bassinet. I found one NIB on ebay for a little less than buying it from the source. And I think they really keep their value, at least they did when I was looking at them.

I didn't like mine. I'm pretty sure the weight limit was higher, I think that's why we got it.

It's not really bassinets like the regular ones are. What would be the floor if you set it up without the bassinets sits up high and it has the two "pods". You can't just have the floor up high without the pods though and that ruined it for me. I wanted them to sleep together and I wanted to use if for diaper changes and it didn't work for either. Also regular PNP sheets don't fit it. We bought a used crib for our room for $25, but really they just went in their rooms from day 1.

Also, later when you are traveling you will still need two regular PNP for them to sleep in. I'm stuck now with a twin PNP I don't like and nothing for traveling. Luckily so far my MIL and SIL each had one at our destination we could borrow.

My two were really little (weight wise) and we used the regular pnp for MONTHS. They cobedded at the hospital and then cobedded for over 3 months. They loved being snuggled next to each other. After they reached the weight limits, they slept in the bottom and I used the changing table attachment until they were over a year. Mind you, they reached 20lbs at 15 months. I wouldn't waste the money on the "twin" one.

I didn't really get that, either. I thought it was silly to not even have the option of having them sleep together and was a big turn-off for me. That's when I decided on the co-sleeper (Arm's Reach). I use my pnp in the living room for diaper changes, so I really didn't want to deal w/ moving it in and out of our room all the time. From the reviews I've read on the Arm's Reach, a lot of people used theirs for 5+ mos w/ their twins which is all I expect from a bassinet of any kind. Plus, like previously mentioned, the resale appears to be great (they go like hotcakes on eBay!). Yes, they're a little pricey new, but used they're no more than a regular pnp (and less than the "twin" model). Plus, they can be used as a pnp later on. If you get this model, just make sure you get the Original, NOT the Mini (I think they sell that one at BRU), which is much smaller.

I only got one because a friend sold us her used one for $75. Otherwise I had no intention of paying for a "twin" one.

I have a regular pnp and plan to take it and this one on trips for the twins to have their own "bed". I don't trust hotel cribs/playpens :)

Oh my gosh! It's about $200??? Honestly, I never used a bassinett for my singleton, and didn't for the twins. I saw it as one more thing to transition them for sleeping. I have no regrets putting my kids in the crib from the get go.

I don't enjoy sleeping in the same room as my babies anyway. All of their little snorts, noises just kept me awake. This momma likes to sleep!
