My sister and sister in law are trying to plan my baby shower. We are having a hard time finding twin baby shower cakes. Would anyone be interested in sharing pictures of the cakes from your showers? I am having boy/girl twins. Thanks so much, Jara

For mine we just had one big cake from Costco. :)

For my first shower, they did a white cake with little black polka-dots all over and on the top were two peas in a pod. The peas were 3D made from fondant icing. The disclaimer: I'm in the wedding planning business and my favorite pro cake baker made the cake as a gift, so it was wedding cake quality. I'm sure it took a long time as the peas were perfectly sculpted and had air-brushed faces and all. Still, a very cute idea that is gender neutral. I wish I knew how to attach photos, but I'm so not a computer person! :FIFblush:

The theme for my shower with the boys was two peas in a pod but my cake was made by a friend of mine...Italian cream cake but it was not decorated to go with the theme. It was beautiful (and yummy) anyway.

Mine is a Onesie Twosie shower. Its a two layer cake, using white cake mix we are coloring one layer PINK and one layer Purple, the filling is a raspberry filling. On the top, there will be two onesie's; one pink and one purple. We are decorating the onesie's with A LOT of detail.

For my shower next week we are doing a Baby2 (baby squared) theme as it is a couples shower and DH and a lot of his friends utilize a LOT of math and I'm a middle school teacher, so everyone in attendance will get it! :) So the host (who has a cheese cake business) is doing square cheesecakes with 2s on them in chocolate.

For my girls only shower being thrown by my bf (most of the women already have kids... I'm kind of the last one), they are doing a cake from Kroger in a pirate theme (what we are doing the nursery in).

I purposely avoided the 2 peas in a pod theme as I want to do that for their first birthday. I'm going to do a peapod shaped cake with two cupcakes that lift off to be the peas... :). It can easily be cut from a long sheet cake (I'd suggest white for ease of icing) which I plan on buying from the Kroger premade and un-iced (they look at you weird when you order a cake with no icing, but they will do it). Then just mix green icing, ice it flat, pipe on darker green details, and then sit two green cupcakes in the middle (also purchased from Kroger premade and pre-iced). You could do this for your shower and use a blue and a pink cupcake as the "peas" instead.

    Hope this helps!

I don't have a pic yet as my mom in law is slow with burning pics on discs but what she did is - ordered 2 large pumpkin rolls (about 2 feet long), used blue and pink food dye for boy/girl twins and cool whip to cover the rolls like a blanket. She then took 2 cute baby face pics to a bakery that transferred the pics onto rice paper (which you can eat). She used white cool whip where faces would go, then put the rice paper pics onto the rolls. Finished with a cool whip bow the cakes looked like real babies swaddled into blankets.

Here is a picture of ours. It had two baby rattles on it.

Ours was "Welcome Little Angels" because that's our last name. So not necessarily twin themed but I've done a twin baby shower cake with a blue bear and pink bear on them for b/g twins. It was the idea of the person giving the shower though.

    Hi,

We have not had my shower yet but my sister in such a coordinator. We are having a sports theme for the boys room (which my daughter chose because we all love sports). Problem is there is never any hockey in the themes...we live in MA so we are BRUINS fans.
SO... my sister found two pans that are hockey bear players. They are going to be a mirror image of each other with black eyes!
