Hi!! I'm 16 weeks preg w/ twins and very excited. These are my first babies and some family members are throwing 2 different baby showers - does anyone have any recommendations/ideas? I don't know what I need 2 of - if any of you have registries out there could you share them? I'm sort of lost as to what I'll really need!!
    Thanks and congrats to everyone!

Also, if you go to Babies R Us and register (if that is where you are registering) I know they give you a big, fat list of what to register for. I would recommend doubling up on certain items like onesies, gowns, bouncy seats, car seats, and a few other select items (follow the link in the pp). But just remember, whatever you get doubles of, KEEP THE RECEIPTS because you may find that you do not need two of everything.

I registered at Babies R us and Target. Both stores give you a list of things you will need. I also used the recommended list located under the beginners tips on this site.

A word of caution!!! I registered online at Babier R US as I was on bedrest. Some of the items online are not available in the store nor will the store accept a return of such items. It is ridiculous and not a good business practice.

Good luck and enjoy your baby showers!!!

I would really only get 2 of the big things like car seats, high chairs, and cribs. Things like swings and toys you should get one to see if they like it and then consider getting a second one. Get plenty of onesies, sleepers, sheets and bottles(if you plan on bottle feeding). Keep your receipts and ask guests to bring a gift receipt. You will find that lots of people don't buy off the registry.

I agree! Lot of it is going to depend on the baby. My boys LOVE their swings, so I have 2. They aren't big fans of the bouncy chair..

And YES! I'd get plenty of onesies, and sleepers. I am AMAZED about how much laundry we go through, especially since one of mine has reflux and spits up all the time.

I also registered at BRU and Target. Some folks prefer one over the other. If you reg at Bru, make sure people know about their twin discount.
Also, my advise is not to register for ANY clothes, especially if it turns out you're having girls. People cannot resist buying baby clothes, and you will more than likely end up with TONS, even if you don't register for any!

Good luck and congratulations on your twins!

All of our family members are 1000s of miles away and would be buying things online ..and we communicate with most of our friends via email, SO we used Kaboodle to manage our registry. You can check our our wishlist at http://www.kaboodle.com/laurawhiteritchie/...s-wishlist.html

It's so easy to use and my DH even got into it. You install their toolbar in your browser then anytime you see something you like (on ANY website), you just click the "Add to Kaboodle" button on your toolbar! My teens even used it to create their own Christmas wish lists this year.

    HTH!

I am also registered at BRU and Target - only thing I can do from home and am so bugged that they don't have certain things like NUK's to register for!!! UGH!!

Anyway - use the list from here - it has a lot of what you need - and I'm going from my "past experience" on knowing what I used a lot of and what my other kiddos liked!

Congrats on your twin pg !! My only suggestion is a double stroller, and I have 2 one side by side .... not so good when they are babies, and I have a tandem(one sits in the back and one in the front) I like that one much better. It's big but it handles easier. 2 car seats, I have 2 baby bathtubs and only used 1. 2 cribs. 1 dresser. 2 boppy pillows, 2 walkers, 1 bouncy 1 swing. Just think about it there are a lot of things that you can get away with only having 1 of, just swap at times.

    Best of Luck !!

congrats! I agree with the others- buy stuff and save the receipts. You never know what the kids will be in to, and what they'll hate- ie. swings, bouncers.
