Twin A is Layton, what should Twin B be??

My daughter is expecting twin boys, her first kids and my first grandbabies! She has selected the name Layton Tyler for the first boy out but can't decide on the second boy name.

She thinks she really wants something that ends a similar sound ("en") but is sure she doesn't want a second "L" name. The middle name will probably be Michael, as her fiance's name is Tyler Michael.

These are some of the names they are considering. Any thoughts on these, or other suggestions that go well with Layton Tyler?

    - Christian Michael
    - Weston Michael
    - Preston Michael
    - Braydon Michael
    - Davon Michael
    - Nathan Michael

At this point they are leaning towards Christian or Preston but I thought it would be fun to put this out for comment! On a side note, my two favorites are Jayson (I like that spelling with Layton) or Landon (how cute is Layton & Landon?!?) but she says no way! [IMG] But hey, I'm just the Grandma so I'll defer to the Momma!

Layton is not my cup of tea. It reminds me of the word Latent. Layton means Narrow Town...Landon means long hill...Tyler means one who tiles..all leave some to be desired. Though I like Landon better.

    Love Jayson.

How about Landon Micheal and Nathan Tyler?

TabbiSue - I had to laugh when I read your reply. I'm not crazy about Layton either, and in fact when my daughter told me that was the boy name they picked out (before she knew there were two), I asked her if she made it up! My husband says the same thing about it reminded him of "latent". And none of the combinations of names have much rich meaning as you noted. But she loves the name and I believe that she'll stick with that for Twin A.

She does like Nathan so that's on the table for Twin B. Emily, I saw that you said you liked Jayson, then realized that's your DH's name, cute! Well my DD's is Emily! [IMG]

I love seeing the baby names that people are choosing here, and why. It's fascinating for us "old" people to see the current trend in names, and the return of the very old names (Harry, Charlie, etc.) as well. Thanks for your replies!

I'm not big on Layton either, but it's the parent's that gotta love the name right? I think you said in another thread that they live in NW Arkansas? Their is something about the name Layton that makes me think of the Ozarks, not sure what it is though [IMG]
For the other name I like Preston or Braydon, or maybe Nathan, I like the nickname Nate, but you can't really shorten Layton, so in that case I like Preston or Braydon better.

Thanks everyone. I spoke with DD tonight and asked (for the millionth time! [IMG] ) if my grandsons have "permanent" names yet, which is quite a joke between us. She said they have finally decided on Layton and Preston. Well anyway, that's THIS week's decision ... and isn't that part of the joy of the whole process anyway? Choosing, changing, changing again and on and on and on ... !!

    Hooray, someone likes it! [IMG]

I will admit that they're growing on me, and once I cuddle those precious bundles it won't matter if they're named George, Jesus, Treehouse, Rocketman, or anything else for that matter ... if I'm holding one of them that means they're HERE and they're SAFE and they're READY for Grandma to start spoiling them!!!! I'm so excited to see those two little faces, and I know whatever names their sweet mommy and daddy pick for them will end up to be the perfect fit for a perfect little tyke!

I'm still in awe that my "baby" is having "babies" ... how wonderful is that?!? Truly grandchildren ARE God's reward to us for not killing that child while she was a teenager! [IMG]

Life is grand ... enjoy every moment you can!!!
