Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I am back at work today after a very busy birthday weekend.

We had a great party - the weather was great, so we were outside. We had about 40 people or so. I had people chip in and bring food, which was a great time and stress-saver for me. We did a basic first birthday theme and kept that simple. The party started at 1 p.m. - the babies were napping soundly until 2:30. Everyone was anxious to see the guest of honor, but they were in no hurry and I was NOT waking them up. After they got up and drank their bottles, we did cake and happy birthdays (sang twice - once for each kid). They got chocolate cupcakes and it took them a while to get into them. Parker just liked chewing on the big "one" candle and would scream if I tried to take it away - so he got a little wax with his cake - oh well. They got great presents - lots of toys for outside, which will be fun this summer. All in all a good day - but very tiring for me!

As for thoughts on the first year...wow...sometimes I think it went by in a flash and sometimes I think it dragged on and on. It was the best and worse year of my life. I have learned so much about myself in all of this - it really has been a life changing experience!
