Wow, I'm half way there! I' just pasting my blog post but here it is:

I had my 20 week appointment today with the Physician's Assistant and all is well. Baby (aka N*5) is sitting really high at the tippy top of my cervix which explains why everyone has/had a hard time finding the heartbeat. I did get a quick ultrasound since after 15 minutes se still couldn't locate the heartbeat. I saw N*5 sucking its thumb and blowing what seemed like bubbles. I'm measuring 22 weeks but thats probably because my cervix never fully shrunk (I measured 60 weeks when I was pregnant with the babies!) Blood pressure was 110/70 and no protein in the urine.

I talked to PA about me attempting to VBAC. Dr. D had said weeks ago if I show up 9 cms and ready to push he'd let me deliver. Me, in all my glory, decided that is exactly what I plan on doing. She laughed and agree that there is no reason I shouldn't be allowed to VBAC but because its a VBA2C, its less likely to find a doctor who will let me. I'm currently on the hunt for a Doula to help me or you'll read about me delivering a baby on the highway!

I have a Fetal Echocardiogram (due to the Lupus) and a Level II ultrasound on May 1st (pushed back from next week due to C's schedule.) I am finding out the gender but because C is not finding out, I need to keep the news to myself! I also get to do another 24 hour urine (thanks to the Lupus again) and get the most recent titers to the Anti-Kell issue I have going on.

Otherwise, it was an uneventful appointment.

Glad you had a good appointment! I can't believe you are 20 weeks already!! WOW!

As for the gender--you must be way better than me at keeping secrets. There is no way I could know the gender and not let DH know.

Since twins are usually full term at 38 weeks, you're more than half way! Congrats!

Congrats on a great appointment! I found having a doula for my VBAC was wonderful. I don't think I'll labor without a doula again. Paul is a great, great support but having two people there (one of which is specifically trained to make me feel better) is wonderful and I can't recommend it enough.

I am terrible at keeping secrets. I would subconsciously tell my husband. This time, I was the one who didn't want to find out because we REALLY want a boy, and if I found out I am having a girl, I was worried I would be depressed or disappointed. BUT, DH insisted on finding out - to lessen the blow I guess... And he is even worse than I am at keeping a secret... I just gave in and let them tell me. THANK GOD IT'S a BOY!!! :D

Congratulations! Looks like things are going really well!

I personally feel VERY strongly about having a VBAC. Again, this is my own personal opinion. I suggest you locate a doula and/or midwife through mothering.com. They have a great support group there and are VERY MUCH supportive of VBACs, and lots of women have had VBA2Cs. You could also look on ICAN-online.com. I love going there for support as well.

For me, I'm considering having a homebirth. Husband really prefers to be at home, but I'm not fully comfortable with the idea yet. I have a great midwife group at the hospital. If I decide to stay with the midwives at teh hospital, I will do the same as you, labor at home with my husband and doula and transfer to the hospital towards the end. We live 3 miles from the hospital. I had one cesarean with my son. Daughter came out vaginally and the doctor broke his water WAY TOO prematurely and his cord prolapsed.

I really hope you get to VBAC successfully!!!! I know I hope, pray, and think about having a successful VBAC with this little one!
