I have no idea what it is lately but I have the TV on during the day and these 2 will contortion their bodies in order to look at it no matter what they are doing!!! I could have them on the floor under their gym and I catch them looking at it, I will be feeding them with them turned away from it and they will arch thei bodies to look!! It's crazy! Are your babies doing this and how worried should I be that they are catching some Rachel Ray or Regis and Kelly???
at 3 months mine were really doing that. I had to actually turn it off at times because it got crazy how much they were looking. When they were born, the tv was on all the time for me. As time went on, I actually got sick of it (and really discovered this site!) so it is not on so much. I have a couple shows I watch and now that they got older and roll around, they are not as interested. If I am watching something and I noticed they are glued to it, I will play with them on the floor with their toy as I watch. You will probably get a lot of opinions here, but personally, I think if they are not watching it constently it is fine. I would find a way to distract them though if they become glued to it.
Mine do the same thing!! I finally had to limit the time that I had the tv on because of it. I decided that I HAD to watch the Today Show in the morning and then I sometimes turn on The View when they are eating their lunch, but other than that I keep the TV off. They won't pay attention to anything but the TV if I don't.
My babies started doing this too at that age. My trick was to turn on closed captioning and put the tv on mute. It worked like a charm. Mona
My oldest ds turned from his back to his tummy at 2 months because he wanted to see what I was watching. I had been watching Days of Our Lives at the time. He turned from his tummy to his back at exactly 1 month. He was also walking like Eli at 10.5 months.
Mine do the same thing and have for a long time. Mine can be surrounded by toys on the floor and they'll stop playing to watch TV. I have to turn it off because they will even watch when the volume is down. Sounds like it is pretty common.
Mine are tv addicts any time it is on they are watching it. My husband is a coach so he watches a ton of games on the weekend and Parker sits there and stares and claps ....its ridiculous. I let my kids watch a couple of shows in the morning and then I turn it off. Every parent is different. Its just up to you.
