I know that it is very good for babies to place them on thir tummy.
but I have hard time to find the time to do that.

I cannot place them on tummy after feeding. but before feeding they are sleeping or already waken up and crying for food.
how long should I keep them on tummy?

my twins are 4 weeks old. pleae advice.

    Thank you in advance.

My ped told me to start from day 1. They HATED it and it was tough to find a time when they hadn't just eaten or were asleep. I would try to get them on their tummies 3 times a day for at least 5 minutes during an awake window and let them fuss a bit. If that motivated them to lift their heads, great! If they got hysterical I'd "rescue" them and hold them or put them on their backs.

They will eventually learn to love tummy time, but it may take a while! You can put bright colored toys in front of them, or lay down in front of them to get them interested. I would call their names and make excited noises when they managed to get their heads elevated.

    Good luck!

I started doing tummy time from day one. They ate, we kept them upright for 10 minutes and then they did tummy time for 10 minutes. Then they were put on their backs for 10 minutes for them to kick around. They went right to sleep after.

My boys have been STTN at 9 weeks old and David rolled 2 weeks ago. Jonathan is not too far behind.

I just tried to work it in whenever I could. Usually, I found just before nap/bottle to be best since they hadn't eaten in awhile. Mine never enjoyed it, but even if they are fussing they will still exercise those neck muscles!

My pedi told me to wait until 6-8 weeks (I'm not sure why). They both hated it at first. DS still doesn't really like it and usually rolls right to his back. DD likes it pretty well now. We did tummy time whenever I thought of it. It ended up being once a day, for a couple of minutes. That's all they would tolerate.

My pedi mentioned starting tummy time when we went in for our 2 week check.. I really found it hard to remember getting them on their tummy, and they pretty much hated it as well..

I was never religious about tummy time for any of my kids. My first ds had such bad reflux he would puke everytime I put him on his stomach. Not spit up, literally puke his whole feeding back up. He still rolled over at 5.5 months.

My older dd was a very big baby (9lbs 12 oz at birth) and hated tummy time, she still rolled over by 6 months.

The twins I just rarely had time, my ds rolled over the first time at 5 wks old from back to tummy, and was rolling consistently by 4 months. Dd has a bit of trouble from tummy to back mostly because she's lazy :p They are a little over 5 months old.

Just try to do it when you think about it, but if it's been a few days, don't sweat it, they get a workout from laying on you, or when you hold them upright!

I was very inconsistent about giving tummy time and now I really wish I made time for it. Now they have flat heads, due to Torticollis, but more tummy time could have limited their flatness and help strengthen those neck muscles. Babies without torticollis can get flat heads from being on their backs a lot. I know with twins it's hard to find the time and they generally don't like it, but I recommend doing it often and on a daily basis.
