My girls are about 3 lbs each. My goal is to get them over the 6 lb mark for birth. So, if they have to double in size...WHERE ARE THEY GOING TO GO??? It seems like I am stretched to my very limit now...is my tummy going to double in size because they do? Or is there room in there that I don't know about. Them doubling their weight is a scary thought.

I can only echo your concern! My boys are 2lbs each and it's unfathomable to think that I could possibly get any bigger.

Just when you think that you cannot possibly get any bigger, you will! Our bodies are amazing, and their ability to grow and adapt is fascinating. You have to take lots of pics now, because a few weeks from now you will look back and think how tiny you looked!

I am so with you on this one....i thought the same thing -- my boys were mesuring 3lbs 5 oz at 30 weeks (and i'm measuring 42 weeks) -- and I said to my husband "How in the world am I going to walk when their 6lbs a peice!!! I've got to have faith - lots of other women have BTDT -- so hopfully it will all work out! (I'm mostly worried about my skin -- my belly is already covered with strechmarks - and they are itchy!!! UGH!!!)

oh, you can grow, yes, yes you can.

I am now 36w and cannot believe that I thought I was big at 30 weeks. Dh marvels that someone as little as me (I am under 5ft tall) can be so GIGANTIC!! I am hoping the babies will be 5.5lbs at birth. You will be amazed at what your body can do. I know I am!

Your body will be able to do it. It will be amazing. Takes lots of pictures because I honestly had no idea how big I was until they were older and saw the pictures.

I did not find that my stomach doubled in size but it felt like it.

    You can do it!

Your body will make room for them . . . I promise! I remember the day I found out we were having twins. The doctor told me that I would gain between 40 and 60 pounds. I said I would give him 40 but not 60 because that was almost half of my prepreg. weight. I delivered at 35 weeks and I had gained 52 pounds. My stomach got bigger and bigger and bigger. I honestly thought I would POP!

There is a visual resource for this you might want to look at:

They don't have too many twin moms, but they do have a few. (You guys could even consider adding your pictures if you wanted to help expecting moms like yourselves!)
