TTTS

I am a in a state of shock right now. We had our ultrasound today and we have found we definitely have TTTS. They are sending me to Cincinnati Children's Hospital to have surgery (more than likely laser surgery). Baby "A" is right on target size wise but has way too much fluid causing the heart to work very hard, so hard they thought the baby had heart issues but now think it's only due to the TTTS. Baby "B" is our donor baby and is 40% smaller than baby "A". We are scared to death right now, and have a ton of questions. My sweet brother and sis in law are on their way to pick up the children and then in the morning my momma, husband and I will leave to head to Ohio. Please keep us in your prayers. They said to prepare to be there several days or a week or so. I will have tests on Friday and depending on what they find they may do the surgery Friday night or Saturday morning. If not could be Monday morning. I just want it done asap to help these babies now! Again please remember us in your prayers!

Hang in there. You can do it! We had TTTS, and were 16 weeks premmie and we got through.. so I have no doubt that you will get through too. I just recently made a video about me and my twin sis.. about our journey from the beginning till now.. im uploading it to the net, so if you'd like to see it.. just ask, cause it might give u some inspiration to keep carrying on.. have faith! you can make it through! I can't remember if i answered a previous post of yours, but I was diagnosed w/ TTTS and can definitely relate to your fears. I had the laser surgery as well and am now at the waiting stage. It will help if you write down all your questions for the doctros so you do not forget. I have heard of several success stories from cincinnati. Check out www.tttsfoundation.org for some information, inspiration afnd success stories. You cannot pray enough - i believe that is the only thing that kept me calm throughout the consultations and surgery.

Cincinnati Childrens Hospital is one of the VERY best. I know you are scared to death. I had TTTS,too, and was on a roller coaster ride of emotions! I will be praying very hard for you. I live about 20 minutes away from Children's and I worked there for 4 years. If I can do ANYTHING at all for you or your family please LET ME KNOW! I would love to help. I will be praying very hard for all of you.

I am definitely sending many prayers your way. I know how scary it is as we are in the recovery period now. It's been a 2 week post-op rollercoaster, but things are progressing perfectly. We were Stage III. I know you're leaving, but I just posted an update here this morning so read it if you have time. Good luck to you and I'm excited to hear how it went.
