So I have been getting cramps in my lower abdomen for about a month now sometimes with tightening sometimes without, but nothing consistent. Then I started to get the dull back pain mixed in with it, not as frequent as the cramping, but still not consistent. Today all day I have been getting both pretty often like 4 or 5 an hour, The only thing that has me puzzled is it is much more mild than normal I don't even need to lie down with these just very uncomfortable. I told myself I would go to labor and delivery if the were still here when DH gets home, but they are so mild it is hard to take them seriously. Oh and a few times today the pains have been like I had to use the bathroom kinda bad (sorry), but mostly just period cramp feeling. Any thoughts at all I would love to hear.

If you aren't sure I would call your ob/gyn or the ob/triage nurses at your hospital to get their opinion. Better safe than sorry:)

I too would call your OB just to let them know. . . My peri said its very hard sometimes to tell the difference between BH and real contractions. . .They really need to check your cervix to make sure. . .

With my 1st pregnancy I had both- I had contractions, tightening, etc. and I thought I might be in PTL and it turned out to be nothing. . .Then I also had the same thing a few weeks later (and I just happen to have a doctor's appt) that I thought was the same, NOTHING to worry about, and she sent me to Triage at the hospital to make sure, and I was in PTL. . .They were able to stop it pretty easily with meds. . .So I would call to make sure. . .But don't feel bad that you might be overreacting, its best to be safe! Good Luck! Keep us posted! :)

I have had the same type of feelings off and on throughout the pregnancy and have gone in several times. Once I was dehydrated and got fluids and the other time it was nothing. They told me it was just irritability and the weight of all of the contents in my uterus. I felt much better after going in and my OB has told me many times that if I am ever in doubt just to go in to be evaluated. That is what they are there for. :)

Im glad they went away.. But i was going to say it sounds like labor pains. If they come back... You should call and just ask. Your OB shoudl have given you the number to the L&D. You can always call and ask them if they think you should come it.

Those last few weeks are hard.. I also felt like i was going crazy.
