I know that my girls aren't too young to start crawling, but this week they are getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. They only do it for a few seconds and then go back on their tummies, but they are trying really hard to move. Sometimes they even put their head down and push forward hard with their legs to move forward. Is this causing a sleep regression because for the last few nights they won't sleep for longer than 2 hours without waking? They have been sleeping with their bottoms in the air and arms tucked under. Also, do you think its safe to say that they will be crawling within the next month? Their daddy has leave from Iraq in March and I kinda wanted him to be able to see them crawl :)

I would say it's getting close! if they are up on all fours and rocking! you could try and hurry it along for daddy by putting toys in front of them just out reach.
Also, yeah with new milestones usually comes a sleep regresssion.
    Have fun!! How exciting!

I would say they are definitely trying and by the looks of it, should be in full mode by march!!!!
As for the sleep, babies always seem to experience that shortly before they master a new skill!!

Oh, if they are on their knees & rocking back & forth, it's safe to say it won't be long now! I would almost bet they will be able to crawl to Daddy when he gets home!

ETA - And yes, it can cause a few sleep issues when they are learning something new!

Yes! I think they will be crawling within the next month! All babies are different but they are certainly off to a great start! My twins started crawling at 6 months and are now pulling themselves up! I also experienced the same problem after they started going mobile (they wouldn't sleep as much). They were over excited I guess. They now (9 1/2 months) are sleeping through the night again. You might want to encourage the crawling by placing things that draws their attention just SLIGHTLY out of their reach. I don't know if this will work for you but most children are OBSESSED with remote controls!!! Best of luck to you and your twins and please thank your husband on my behalf for defending our country.

Wow, they are doing great, my lazy boys won't get up on all fours unless I'm doing it for them. I think mine will be the ones that crawl late or don't ever crawl. My oldest son was that way. I bet you are so excited, your gonna have some on the go kiddos soon. :)
