Since all this year's winter clothes are super duper cheap, I thought I would stock up for next year, but I am not sure what to buy. The girls are in 6-9 months now and weigh around 19lbs. I know that everyone has said that the weight will slow down, so should I go for 18mos(which is how old they will be), or up it to the 24mos to account for their size now?

    TIA

There's no way to know for sure, but I would buy clothes between 18 and 24 months. My girls are 11 months old, they weigh about 19 and 20 1/2 lbs, and they're wearing 12-18 month clothes.

I'd say 24 months. Even if they are a little bug you can always roll the sleeves - better too big than too small. My girls will be 1 in March and are in 12-18 month now. I bought 2T for next winter - Old Navy had a fantastic sale

I would say between 18-24 months to be safe.

I would get 24 months. As pp have said it is really hard to buy ahead as you just never now, which is why I have stopped. Too many outfits that didn't fit the season!

My kids are bigger than yours height wise obviously bc they weigh 17lbs, but I need to put them in 12 months bc they are long. I would at the very least go 24 months, maybe even 2T in items that run small. I have been buying 24 months for this summer.

You can never get shirts that are too big, its nice having them longer in the winter so you know that they are covering thier tummies. I am going to buy the girls size 2T pants in boys since Kohl's has them with adjustable waists and my DS can never keep his pants up. That way you can't go wrong.

All my kids have the same build though...long waist, short legs, so maybe that's why I like my stuff to run a little bigger.

I'm going to be the dissenter and say 18 months. My girls grew a ton between 3-9 months and then hardly at all from 9-12 months.

At 14 months (and about 20 lbs), mostly they wear 9-12m sizes in pants and full-body outfits, and 12-18m sizes in shirts. 12-18m pants are always too long. And many styles are too loose to really roll up. Shirts are a little easier, but it still drives me nuts having to roll the sleeves up all the time.

Anyway, IMO it's fine to buy things a little big, but you don't want to overshoot by so much that they can't wear them. Which is why I've given up on buying clothes ahead of time. [IMG] (It does kill me to not take advantage of those January sales, though.)

OK, well I wrote all that and then saw that your girls are just under 6 months and weigh 19 lbs already. So maybe you should go with the 24m size after all. But I'll leave all the other stuff in my post anyway in case it's useful to someone! [IMG]

I'd go with 24 months, that's what I am doing. My girls are in mostly 12 months and weigh close to 18 pounds each. They have quite a few summer things in 18 months and so I believe they'll be to 24 months in the fall/winter.
