I've been having a lot of trouble breathing today when sitting or laying down. Is this normal? I usually get out of breath when I'm walking around, but I'm having to take deep breaths when I'm sitting straight up, laying back, or on my side. Should I be concerned?

I was this way from very early on in my pregnancy (like starting at 4 months). The doctor told me that my uterus was high early on.

Sorry to say but this was normal for me at this point in my pregnancy. If it worsens I would let the doc know. Unfortunately it doesnt get any better

    Ditto, what the others said.

I found the best way to treat the breathing trouble was to relax, and try to take my mind off of it. You can also lean forward and with you arms stretched out. That helped me a little. What's even more amazing is how difficult it is to breath after you deliver. I carried really high the whole time, and it took me over a month to be able to breath deeply without having a funny feeling in my diaphragm.

I know how you feel and I'm only having one this time around!
On our way to church today I told my husband that if I pass out during church it's because of a lack of Oxygen. I truly felt lightheaded and faint. The baby must have eventually made his way out of my ribcage because I can breathe much better this evening. Hope this happens for you too!

I encountered this too when pregnant, I understood it when I was walking, but all I had to do was sit there and I would get out of breath. And after the babies were born it took another month or so to get deep breath capabilities back. Big Hugs!
