Triple/Quad Strollers

Thanks aceandgary for asking the stroller question; I had taken for granted that I should ask a questions about strollers! My baby will be 16 months when the twins come, and my oldest 3 1/2. I can't decide if he will get much use out of the stroller at that point? Any suggestions on what kind of triple or quad? Also opinions on use of stroller for 3 1/2 year old. My primary use will be walks for exercise/church/around town. Currently we walk daily in a double jogger, which I love, but I really don't know what to go to when the twins get here.

My third was 12mos when the twins were born. I started with a tandem triple that I HATED!! When the twins were 10mos we got the Valco twin runabout with toddler seat. It's fabulous!! None of my kids have used a stroller beyond 3 so I'd think a triple would be okay for you but only you know your child. I highly recommend the Valco if you go for the triple. Here's a pic of ours....

I've heard lots of raves about the Valco, but we couldn't afford that. I bought a used Peg Triple and it worked fine for our needs.

Yes, VERY pricey! That's why we started with the tandem triple. I hated it but it worked. When it broke, we used part of our tax return (thanks to two more little deductions!) to buy the Valco.

 

I don´t think you will need a stroller for your 3 1/2 one old then - My youngest daughter just had her 3rd birthday, and we got rid of that stroller before she was 2 and a half. We are trained walkers, though, but I think none of the other 3 year olds in our kindergarden still uses a stroller. And, you could maybe still use a kiddy board.

And did you think about getting a sling or a bjorn? You could put one twin in there, while your 16 month old and the other twin share the twin stroller - ok, that´ll look wild, but for short trips it could be ok.
