I just got home a little over an hour ago from the ER. Interesting story on how I wound up there. I got home from work this afternoon a little after 1pm and I went outside to show my husband something, as he had been working outside in the morning, and the dog got out. Our yard is not fenced in yet and obviously he is usually on a leash when we take him out, but the sneaky little thing darted out when I opened the door. Now I know I should have known better, but there I am trying to corral the dog with my husband. He got into the street a few times, we were able to stop traffic and eventually got him back in the house. He scared me half to death and don't get me wrong I'm glad he's fine, but at the same time I want to wring his neck! So now I'm getting back pain and on and off cramping in my abdomen. I sat with my feet up drinking water for almost 2 hours but nothing helped I was feeling worse. So I call the answering service who has me call another doctor on call covering for my regular OB. After I explain how I'm feeling he says to go to the ER to get checked to make sure I am not dialating. I didn't know if I was feeling contractions or just pain from my afternoon dog chase. So we go, get checked in, wait around for a bit, do a blood and urine sample. Then the physicians assistant comes and says I'm going to do a pelvic and then go for an ultrasound. Well let me tell you it was the most painful pelvic I've ever had...dont' know why, but it was. Then she said I'm going to check for your cervix...well she is fishing around in there and says, hmm I can't find your cervix. I was like, did it move? What the hell? She claims she found it and says I'm not dialated...I'm not overly confident in this still, but I am due at my doctor's Monday morning for a check up so I will go over this all with him then. Anyway, I get wheeled to u/s, the girls are fine, moving, heartbeats, looking good. So I get sent home being told I am fine and to follow up with my doctor on Monday. So I'm at home resting, plan on doing more of that tomorrow, and heading to the doctor's on Monday. It was a bit of an ordeal, but I'm glad things look fine, glad the dog is fine, and hope I don't have to go back to the ER anytime soon!

Thank you everyone...I am 19 weeks today. I am glad I do have an appointment on Monday, so hopefully the doctor will check my cervix for me again. I can't believe she couldn't find my cervix. I asked her before we left, I'm not dialated? She said she checked and I wouldn't be allowed to go home if I was. Plan on resting lots tomorrow!
