I felt like I was having many contractions the last 2 days and decided it was time to go to hospital and make sure they are ok. This is the 1st time we have went to our new hospital that we just changed to. When we get there the nurse wasnt able to find both heartbeats with the monitor and began to make me and DW worry. She said she was going to order an u/s. u/s went good worried about baby a (see other baby movement post) they she said you havent had any contractions since you have been here. Ive had strong menstral like cramps and sharp pains in my back, usually what my BH feel like. so i began to feel dumb. Then after the u/s the nurse came in and said " I DONT LIKE YOUR TWINS, NO OFFENSE TO YOU!!!!!" i was like omg -what i should have told her well i dont like you either but i just looked at here with a dumbfounded look on my face. She then told me i wasnt having any contractions and that it is probably gas and round ligament pains. Ive had these babies in here for 26wks i think i know what gas and round lig pains feel like. I hate my 1st experience with the hospital and they make me not want to go in if anything is wrong until i know i am having them. I ask how do i know when i need to come in and she was like if things change...ughhh how do i know my bh i thought all felt the same. anywho i just had a horrible experience with her and dont even want to go back to hospital for any reason til these boys are ready to come out. lucky my cervix has only changed from 3.5cm to 3.3cm in 4wks. which i guess is good. thanks for listening ;-)

I'm really sorry that you had such a negative experience, i can't believe she said that to you!!! :shok:

I know about feeling dumd though , i called a month ago ( i am hour away from nearest hospital) and asked the midwives a few qu(thought i was prolapsing or something) (damn vaginal swelling) and they made me feel REAL stupid.

But don't hesitate to go back if you think somethings wrong. Chances are she won't be there.

In anycase, though, i would definately call the hospital and make a complaint about her. She had no right to say that to you, and why would she want to say that about two beautiful defenseless babies??? Dumb b*$!h !! What a down right mean lady!

I am curious to know if your partner was there....if you know what i mean....maybe she has some issues with that =@ ...but hey thats her loss if she does....I totally agree with your sitation and have no problem with it at all...

goodluck, and hang in there and please don't hesitate to go back if your pains return. :p

Wow, how completely uncalled for! I'm so sorry. :hug99:

You did the right thing by going in, no matter what their attitude. You owe it to yourself and your boys to follow your instinct and protect their lives by heading right for the hospital, just in case.

It was just one bad nurse, and chances are she won't be there again. I agree with PP about calling in to report it, anyway.

    Good grief! :icon_eek:  :shok:

Definitely call and report it. Very unprofessional behavior. She needs a remedial beside manner class!

That stinks… I sorry you had to deal with that… its not like your not dealing with enough…
I know a nurse can some times make or break at trip to L&D… I had to go last week, and I knew I was coming in a bit early (I had just hit 17 weeks) so I kind of went in with my fists up :aggressive: … well my first nurse was sweet and cuddly… nice as heck to my son (who shouldn’t have been there)… then a shift change… and a grumpy nurse took her place… and was all “you only had 4 contraction in an hour…” I could have gone into my medical history with her to justify why I was there and why my Dr sent me… but I knew she was just a grumpy old nurse so I said… “well believe me I rather be home watching Christmas movies with my son, but my Dr insisted I come…” and she left… my DH and I said at the same time, can we have the nice nurse back…

I can't believe someone could be so rude!! I would definitely complain about her too. When I have been to the hospital, they usually send a survey after a few days to see how the experience went. Maybe you will get one of those and can tell them about her!

Yep! this is what I was going to post. I have been in and out of the hospital about 8 times so far. Sometimes they keep me for days, sometimes we go right back home. Do not hesitate to tell your Dr. about how you were treated. We have only had one nurse that was off of her rocker so far in all of our visits! ( I feel very lucky about that!!) My Dr. told me to fill out the survey and to definately file a complaint...he is well known at our hospital and the nurse adore him. (me too!!) and he wasn't going to stand for one of his patients to be treated anything but great!

Take care and I am so sorry you ran into bad U/S tech of the year!

OMG! Definitely tell your doctor about this. She needs to be spoken to about her unprofessional behavior.

When I had my first L&D visit at 24 weeks I asked one of the doctors what should I do next time.. she said "You can never cry wolf too many times with a twin pregnancy. Its really hard to tell what is PTL and what is pre-term contractions. If you feel ANYTHING DIFFERENT, call and come right in. Its our job to take care of you and work together to make sure those babies stay put."

That was SO reassuring to me. I had many trips to L&D over the next 10 weeks, but I was never made to feel stupid about them. Please do not think twice about going there just because of this one incredibly unprofessional nurse.
