Tried taking the girls to the Library tonight I have 2 older children 10 and 7 and they love to read. So they(twin girls) starting screaming at the max output upon exiting the van and would not stop once inside. Our trip was a whole 5 minutes, just long enough to renew a video and go back home!I felt so bad for my other 2 kids. Its so hard trying to take them anywhere! How do other moms with older kids balance everything to make sure no one is left out? I don't remember it being all that bad when my daughter was born now going anywhere seems so impossible.

 I've only taken L&L to the library once, I think. They were older than your two, already walking & every time I tried to look for a book they would start raking all the books off the shelves. :shok: By the time I finally got out of there I was so traumatized I haven't taken them back yet. I actually think they would be fine now & it served me right for not having them in the stroller, I guess. Anyway, just wanted to say that it is very hard & you will find that some places are easier than others to take them. I tried to avoid anywhere that they were expected to be quiet when they were really little, it was just too much pressure on me! If I wanted to go out with the older kids somewhere & I had to take L&L I would try to pick somewhere loud & busy, like a playground. But if you really need to go to the library, will they sleep in the stroller? Can you plan it around a time when they will be asleep?

We only go to the library for storytime. Does your library offer one? Ours has a baby storytime, but it was always during our naptime the first year. Now we go every Thursday. There are babies of all ages there. Maybe your older children could use the library while you are at the program? It really depends how your library is set up and how nice the library staff is.

Up until the twins, I was always on the go! #3 didn't even slow me down! We were back watching baseball games the day after I got home from the hospital with him! But, that first year with the twins, I didn't make any trips that I didn't need to. It was hard! It has gotten easier since the babies are older now.

You know, believe it or not, at this point it's funny. Wasn't too funny at the time, but distance makes all things seem better. Your two will get older & easier too, hang in there!
