Just wanted to share that today I let my babies drink a small amount of sugar water from a bottle while they got their shot. DD didn't cry at all. DS cried only for a second. They just kept on sucking the sugar water. Our last experience with shots was not fun, so I did some research on pain management for babies. Apparently giving sugar water is very common in many other countries, especially in Europe. Granted, they only got one shot today, but it went much better than in the past. Also, I held them while they got their shots.

I always nursed my babies while they received their immunizations. It helped :)

I'm glad eased the paid, poor babbas!

Tbh my girls do really well when they are getting the shots, it's the after effects that we all don't fare very well with. Yippee for no shots now till they are 1, which seems to be coming all to quickly!! :(

My Pedi gave ds1 and ds2 sugar water during their circumcisions. He told me it helps ease their pain. Didn't think to give it to them for shots! Glad it went well for your LOs. :good:
