We got ours from another mom here on TS when her kids outgrew them. They were the Kiddi-o trikes and they worked out great for us (we are still using them). Those should be perfect, do they have the push handle or no? That can be helpful.

We are planning to get something like that once it gets warmer. At 2.5 my oldest DD was riding a bike with training wheels, but she was much taller than the twins are.

We got ours at 1yr 9 mos. We just got cute little Radio Flyers. They were lightweight though and tipped easily. I hear the Kettler bikes are awesome. Hannah could ride hers pretty much right away. It took Ben MUCH longer to figure it out. And I have tall kids so he was pretty much outgrowing it by the time he learned to ride it! We got bikes this past Christmas and so that is the hot pasttime at our house now!

We have some Kettler ones, not the most expensive ones, but still pricey. They have the parent push bar and I think this is a must, at least for us. We got them when they were a little over 2.5 and they picked up on it right away.

We have the Kettler ones. I got one as a hand-me-down that has the push bar -- got another one without the push bar at a yard sale. It was a steal (for the price), but I REALLY wish we had two push bars. At 27 months, neither of my twins have gotten the hang of pedaling yet, and pushing that thing by the back of the seat is really hard on my back!

We waited until age 3 for trikes and it still took them a while to figure out pedaling - plus they couldn't reach the pedals at first. We got the Radio Flyer Twist Trike that turns into a big wheel. They are reasonably priced and have held up well.

We have the Radio Flyer twist trikes and really like them. Mine pretty much still ride them Flintstone style, but occasionally pedal (we put blocks on the pedals). They turn into "big wheels" when they outgrow the trikes.

Wow, I feel like we're behind! I hadn't even thought of getting them trikes yet! They still like their ride-ons.

My boys got a trike from their Pa at their first b-day. They learned to to pedal at 2 years... then at their 3rd bday we got them bikes with training wheels. (You can see them in the pictures section riding them on our site in my siggy).

We gave the girls low rider trikes for their 2nd birthday. They love to ride the bikes all over the place. It took about 2 months for them to really catch on to riding. This past week we looked at 2 wheel bikes for birthday #3 coming in May.

Here is a link to the trike we bought the girls Schwinn Roadster (pink)

We were visiting family this weekend & they had one almost identical to that, only instead of a bucket there was a little step. Which was cool b/c one could sit on the seat & the other would stand behind them. I hadn't even thought of getting trikes yet, but ds hopped on that thing & took to it pretty quick. He didn't really pedal around so much, but back & forth. I don't think it would've taken him much longer to really get the hang of it.

I loved that trike, but I had no idea they were so expensive!!!
