    Hi ladies,

I'm dying for a change of scenery. My girls will be three months old next week. I try to get out of the house a few times a week, but I'm sick of looking at the same walls in my house. I would love to visit my parents but they are a 3.5 hour flight away from me. Should my dh and I attempt to take them on a plane or should I just relax and wait a few more months? Thanks.

YOu can do it - we took our babies on a 6hr car trip when they were 2.5mnths old to see my parents. And, then I did a 17hr international flight a few weeks ago, it is possible, and with two sets of hands it is very doable!

Ditto, this is almost one of the easiest times to do it! They will most likely sleep the whole way :D

There seems like there is a lot of stuff that has to travel with them, or that you will need once you get there, but I third this! Whatever you decide, I hope you have fun!

You can definitely do it! My sister and BIL did this at months of age. Just make a plan of action to follow :) .

We took ours on a 3 hour plane ride to see Grandparents at 8 weeks; and it was fine. It just requires organization. One thing I did not know before we went, and you may already know this--you can't have two lap children in the same row on the plane (not enough oxygen masks); so when you book, try to get two aisle seats across from each other. As soon as you get to the airport, check with the gate agent to see if there's an empty row. Chances are someone will willingly move to give your family a row to themselves. Having the middle seat free is really nice as a "staging area" for bottles, diapers, etc. We also tried to influence their feeding schedule the days we flew so that they would be eating right around take off/landing since the sucking is supposed to help keep their ears from hurting.

    Good luck and have fun!

Definitely do it now. This is when it's easy, LOL. It only gets harder when they get bigger. At this age they will probably sleep the entire time on the plane.
