What's your favorite way to take a bottle with you when out and about? With my older DD, Anna, I put hot water in a thermos, and then put the powder formula in the bottles, so that when she needed to be fed, I just poured the appropriate amount of water into her bottle and shook it up. When I've gone out with the twins I have just put a warm bottle with a warm pack in an insulated case. I'm usually not gone very long, so this works, but I'm wondering if I should go back to the thermos method, of if any of you ladies have a good idea that works for you.

I gave all of my babies room temp bottles, so I just took bottled water and their bottles with powdered formula in the bottom when we were on the go.

I wish I could do room temperature. Both DD1 and now Abriel throw up anything less than warm. Not sure why. <_<

Same here. I felt so lucky. Now however, if their food isn't room temp, they don't eat it. I'm not sure there is much else you can do to keep a bottle warm while out.

This is exactly what we did! It was easy to do :good:.

If I'm going around town with the girls I usually just put some formula in one of those formula dispensers and bring bottles filled with water. If I am traveling far with the girls I buy the ready-to-feed cans and bring bottles with me. I get the $11 off coupons from goodstart and a six pack cost me $1. Each can has 8 oz...it makes it so easy just to pull over at a rest stop and/or restaurant.

I did the thermos thing! I loved it. I also used it for night time feedings as well. If they need warm water, it's just such an easy, long lasting fix!

Our bottles aren't cold, but not very warm, either. I just put the water in the bottles with the right amount, and have the powder premeasured in a dispenser (by Sassy).

This is what I did as well.

Playtex makes a cooler thing that holds two bottles (you just put it in the freezer the night before). The boys really only like formula that's sat for a while after it's been mixed (We use the formula pitchers), and our tries at mixing the formula right before feeding have not gone well. So, I fill the bottles with pre-mixed formula and put them in the cooler pack.

Although we use Born Free bottles, I bought a couple Playtex Drop Ins, and use those when we're out. They're much easier to heat in a mug of hot water, and then I don't have to worry about cleaning crusty bottles later that night.

One of my boys is more picky about formula temp and is pretty sensitive to change, so he really doesn't like to eat out and about, so we don't do it all that often. But this method worked really well when we flew a few weeks ago!

I would boil water right before I left and put that in a glass bottle in a lunch bag with my two bottles and formula dispenser. I would also bring a bottle of room temperature bottled water and then when my girls were hungry I would mix the boiled water with the bottled water to make a nice warm bottle for them.

We have an insulated bottle bag-like this one-so I use that. The bottles stay warm a long time (the manufacturer says four hours) and you can make it longer by starting out with the water hotter than drinking temperature.

Same here. Also, I would often take the bottles pre-made as it was room temp water.

In summer, I used to give them room temperature water. So, I used to carry water in their bottles and pre-measured formula in a slotted container.

During winter, I carry hot water in thermos and some cold water in their bottles (in case I need to give them 6 oz, I used to take 4.5 oz in their bottles. When it was time to feed, I add 1.5 oz from the thermos, add the formula and give them). Water was neither too hot nor too cold. Worked out perfectly for us!!!

Our boys drink their bottles cold, so we put prepared bottles in the insulated bottle compartment of our diaper bag with an ice pack on either side. (Obviously this wouldn't work if it'll be more than a couple hours till they need to be fed!)
