What to keep a 2.5 year old busy on an airplane??

Also, what's the rules on taking snacks with you through security?? I KNOW Jon and Kate have done it, how do WE get to do it??? I'm not a fan of feeding junk food to my kids, nor am I a fan of paying $5 for an apple...... Would rather just bring it with us if I can.

You absolutely can take your snacks on the plane. Just not yogurt and applesauce and peanut butter - nothing that can be a liquid. They'll let you take formula, but not usually milk!

I took coloring books and our dvd player so she could watch movies.
I was also able to bring snacks no problem. She did great!
Have fun-I think 2.5yo is a great age to travel with-it was really fun!

You can bring all snacks thru, and we have always been allowed milk. For us books and songs are the main hits, other small toys are hit or miss and don't last long. Little etcha-sketches are good too.

    Hi,
We bought some of these re-usable sticker books for traveling. They kept the kids busy. Here's the link:

Please feel free to send me a message if the link doesn't work. These books were very useful for us.

As far as snacks are concerned, I brought some toddler cereal bars, dry cereal, raisins, crackers, and some jars of the gerber chicken sticks (they look like little hot dogs and come in a glass container).

I've heard from others that a good "toy" is a roll of scotch tape and/or some bandaids. I haven't tried this myself, but others say these kept their kids busy.

    Good luck!
