My 2 yo boys are in toddlers beds and we are traveling to MI. We found a hotel with 2 bedroom suites but both rooms have queens. There is not option of getting 2 twin beds. There is also no way the boys can sleep comfortably in a PnPs, plus they are over the weight limit. I am considering getting these beds for them AeroBed Sleep Away Inflatable Bed for Kids. It has great reviews. I also considered getting these http://www.gobedbug.com/GOPAGES/toddlerbedrail.htm (we already have them on their toddler beds.) but I would have to get more to divide the queen bed and to have them function as "rails" . However, I am concerned that in this scenario there will be a lot of "crossing over the line".

What are your thoughts? Any other scenario that has worked?

    Thanks much,
    Michele

I'd definitely get an aero bed! Sorry no experience here as we're still in cribs.

We got the inflatable beds that One Step Ahead sells, and they did great. When we went to Disney though, we each slept with one of them in a queen bed and that worked well too--although Anna does not enjoy sharing a bed.

I recently bought two of these travel cots to use this summer, we are driving to my parents place, 2000 miles away, and will be in a hotel 3 nights up, and 3 nights back. They are very lightweight, very portable, and hopefully should work ;) I set them up and the kids had fun playing on them, whether they are going to sleep good on them....I have no idea ;) I'm planning on trying them out closer to the time when we leave and hope they'll sleep on them at our house ;)

We've been staying at a hotel at least once a month since the boys were 5 months old. My father was very ill (died this fall) and we could not stay at my parents. At first we all slept on a king size bed. Once they became too big we each slept with one on a queen size bed.

    Worked fine.

We do have two kid air beds which we have used several times when we ended up staying across the street from my parents at my grandmothers (not an ideal) but we did this when my dad was really bad and I needed to be nearby to help. They both did fine (once we got them to sleep).

We plan to use the air beds this summer when we go on vacation and again in the fall for camping.

These are probably too expensive to get if you don't travel much, but we've been using peapod plus tents since these two were just under 1. The ones we have say they go up to age 6 so it might still be worth it. They are little pop up tents that we just put on the floor in hotels. They come with inflatable air mattresses that fit right inside and you can zip the windows if you want them to be dark or leave them open, depending on what kind of sleepers you have. My kids love them - they think they are going camping when they see us bring them out. They have a little carrying case and we usually hide a special book and toy inside so when we get to the hotel and open them up they have a surprise from home to take to bed. We love them, and I actually fit inside so I can tell you they're comfortable!
