My DD loves her soothie pacifiers, but I would love for her to try something else---I hate those big ugley pacis. I want her to use those cute ones with all the bling and hearts and stars, but the soothie is all she wants to take Any suggestions on what brand she might transition to better???

Honestly I would stick with the soothie... They are made completely of silicone which is a lot safer than some of their cuter counterparts which have shields that are made from plastics containing BPA...

The other thing I like about the soothies is that the baby doesn't get that round "mark" on their skin from where the plastic is against flesh.

Sorry I can't help but I can sympathize somewhat. I would have liked Sophie to switch from the Soothies just so I could use one of those paci leashes so she doesn't drop it (lost one on a walk around the neighborhood last week). But no luck, they are the only ones she wants. Oh well.

They have leashes for them now @ BRU. It's a cute flower & everyone comments on them!! My Mom said she saw them @ Target too.

The problem with them is that they are so big and bulky.

Sorry. I don't have suggestions for the OP. Karina will only take the Soothies too.

I got Jackson to switch at about 1.5 months. He just wouldnt do it anytime before then. I first switched him to the NUK brand and he seemed to be able to keep that in is mouth better and then just a few weeks ago I tried an AVENT brand and he did great! now he wont even try a soothie. I do agree though, I just couldnt stand the big ugly things. Logan wouldnt take them right from the start, but the hospital got Jack addicted to them! Anyways, hope this helped.

Try the Playtex Binky - they have a similar nipple shape, and my DS finally took them after refusing all others. They sell a one-piece silicone version if you're worried about BPA; otherwise, they have cute silicone nipple/colored plastic versions.

I've also wondered whether the Gerber NaturalFlex would work, but haven't tried them personally (also, they're not quite as "cute" as the Binky).

    Best of luck!

We tried that too, but they didn't take to any of them. They love their soothies, not just for sucking but they naw on them so they're good for when they are teething real bad.

Mine have the same problem. Literally everything else we've tried they've spat back out again. I have a couple of the nuks on pacifier clips for when we're out, but they only last a couple minutes. These kiddies only want the soothies - wish I had shares in the company that makes them, I swear they get those kids hooked from the minute they've popped out in the hospital.

Am I the only one who has never heard of a soothie?!

My girls will only take soothies. I have a huge box of every other kind of pacifier around, and they just spit them out. So no advice here. ( I personally would be leery of any type of bling on a pacifier, wouldn't want it to fall off and accidentally get swallowed).

Soothies are the paci's that the hospitals use. Since mine were in the NICU for 8 weeks, that's what they preferred for quite a while!. See link:

well I'm definitely not ordering any if we've gone 10 months without them! lol
I don't want my babies to get addicted! (totally kidding)

FWIW, we have the bling pacis, I just had to buy them, and my babies hate them, have never taken them.
