We're having a tough time deciding between toddler beds vs a full size to share. K&K share a room. They do well together. We're lucky they've lasted this long in cribs (2 1/2 yrs). Now, it's no longer safe. They both climb out regularly.

    What did/have you done?

My other 2 had toddler beds until Kinder. I'm leaning in that direction, they're so little, cute, fit existing crib mattress, and leave extra room for play. Then, at 5-6 we could do a bunk/loft bed type set up. (my almost 6 year old has had a loft bed for almost a year and we/he love it)

What do you think? Any suggestions where to buy?

    Thanks!

I would go for the toddler beds. It's nice for them to each have their own space.

Our cribs convert to toddler beds. Have you considered getting them each a twin bed, perhaps a style that can be set up as bunk beds later? If we did not have the convertible cribs I probably would end up getting them twin beds.

I think when the time comes for us to make the transition, we'll go with single (twin-sized) beds. We might decide to go with single rooms for them down the road, if they want so it makes sense to me to go that way. (can't cut a double bed in half)

Our cribs convert to toddler beds, but I don't think we'll use that feature at all since the new baby will need one of the cribs. We'll be going straight to twin beds that can bunk later if we want to bunk them (although that scares me!). I already have their bedding for the twin beds, but I'm holding out as long as I can on the switch! I think we're going to keep the baby in a bassinet for a while and then move them over.

We just bought cheap Toddler Beds from Wal-Mart. I think they were $40/piece. They are pretty, though, and comparable to a $100 bed I saw at Babies R Us. I couldn't really tell the difference. I had a really selfish reason for wanting to use toddler beds.. I had bought really nice bedding for the babies cribs, but it was NEVER on there, because they couldn't have blankets, and I honestly never felt like messing with it. Now they are older, I get to make their beds with their pretty ladybug quilts.. At least they'll get some use out of them!

I would like to go to bunk/loft beds, next, too. I guess we'll see how long we can stretch out the toddler beds, and how they act during the next transition.

We just switched two weeks ago, by the way.. It sure is a patience tester! I find mine are staying up WAY later & sleeping later. This has wreaked havoc on our schedule, but I think we're making a little headway!

    Good luck!

We went straight to toddler beds, after not being able to decide. I'm happy with the decision, because, it gave us more room to play, and it gave me more time to figure out the bed size when they outgrow their toddler beds.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tonight is their first night in toddler beds. So far, so good!

My girls cribs convert into Toddler beds, When the new baby is out of the bassinet she will need one of the cribs so i think it will be time for 'big girl beds'
