Hi there. I'm just curious what the natural progression is for potty training. I'm thinking use the potty chair and then the big people toilet, but I've been reading reviews on potty chairs, stories, etc and it seems that people use the potty chair, then progress to the potty seat, and THEN that regular potty.
What are your thoughts and experiences??

I also have an update...I, too, have one that seems interested in pt and one that could careless. I bought the large Baby Bjorn potty (at babiesrus) yesterday, and Grayson peed in the potty tonight!! I don't know how serious he will be but at least it's there if he decides to go...for now. I only got one because I really didn't want to spend $50 on potty chairs! I'm thinking I may have to get another one though because they were both in there wanting to go at the same time. I'm thinking about another chair like I got or the Baby Bjorn potty seat...the little potty just looks so small and one of my boys has really long legs....

    TIA

    Alicia

With Sofia we went straight to the regular toilet. She's done just fine with it.

We let the kids kind of lead the way. Hannah used the baby potty, then the detachable potty seat that fit on the toilet, and then now just uses the regular toilet. Ben used the potty seat that fit on the toilet from the beginning, and now three months later still uses it (just at home; he uses the regular toilet when out and about). I need to hide it from him so that we can start encouraging him to stand up!

We use the potty ring at home and they have the little toilets at the daycare. My son stands unless having a BM. I bought a portable ring for outside the home but was informed by my daughter that she does not like it. I was using the toilet seat covers and just found some more on OneStepAhead. So...short answer, we didn't have a potty chair because I didn't want to clean it.
