I am tired of buying pullups because they are expensive and my kids know the difference between underwear and pullups-- i am thinking about getting these washable training pants for naps and nighttime-- does anyone have any recommendations or pointers? Where to get the best value-- are they worth it?
    thanks

I cant wait to hear the answers to this. I just bought 2 packages at BRU today. They were 7 dollars I think. These are the ones I got.

They were by the burping clothes. In my BRU, it was by the pacifiers and sippy cup and feeding wall.

That is what we used at first but we didn't use them for that long at all. I think I only bought one package for each child. They wanted the underwear with characters on them which actually helped in getting them to wear underwear.

I can't remember where I found them. If it wasn't Wally World, it was Target.

My mom and I got some at Walmart. They were in a package of 3 for like $5.00 and they were in the baby section, near the potty chairs and that kind of stuff.

They are napping now but I am going to put them on when they wake up and I know I will then find out sooner then later but...what is the difference between the ones I bought and underwear? I would think they are still going to get wet. It does not hold all the pee in does it?

i think they are supposed to absorb more than regular underwear-- i like to put a pull up on mine when we leave JUST in case, but i think it is confusing to them.. so i was thinking these would feel more like the regular underwear that they wear at home..

Ok thanks. I have just been reading the potty training sticky at the top of this forum. I think that is what I will do. These training pants at home and pull ups when we go out.

They will hold more than regular (one layer) underwear but not all that much.

With pull ups, different types of underwear, etc., I thought it would be too confusing for my kids.
They only wore pull ups aka sleepy underwear when they slept.

The only time I used those training pants was when we were very first potty training and made our first few trips out in public with no pull-up. They don't hold pee, but at least absorb it more than regular underwear and it's not quite as bad (not a big puddle) if they have an accident. I don't think they are necessary though.

We used training pants and I found good ones at JC Penney and Target. They have a thicker section in the middle that works better at absorbing and containing any accidents, in my opinion. At first we paired the training pants with rubber pants (to contain any accidents). Once they were good about not having accidents, we got rid of the rubber pants and just recently moved to regular underwear. At night, we used a pair of training pants and then put a pair of lined rubber pants over top. We found the lined rubber pants at Target (I think they are made by Gerber). They work great if there is an overnight accident. DD has done excellent overnight, but DS sometimes has accidents and I have never had a leak outside of the lined rubber pants.

I tried this route when my boys were 2.5...for me, so not worth it! I spent about $60 and got enough so they would have about 8 changes each a day. Don't let them fool you, they do not hold any pee. I even had to put the plastic ones overtop so they would stop peeing all over my living room. I tried it for about a week and mine just went in them like they were diapers and all I did was get frustrated and have a large load of dirty undies at the end of the day. Mine were just not ready at the time. Three months later they were trained in a week. GL!

Oh, and I would only use pull-ups for overnight...unless you like to clean a mess. Mine only wear pull-ups overnight now and rarely have an accident but when they do I am glad it is a simple cleanup.

leak proof/resistant. very absorbent. Loved 'em. Expensive, but worth it IMO.
