toys for the summer

In the summer, we are out in the yard a lot, and I have been looking for stuff that the kids can have fun with outside. I have a step 2 jungle gym and a sandbox, but I was wondering what other ideas moms had.

Also, when is a good age to start learning how to ride a tricycle. My oldest DD never had any interest in learning, she is going to be 6 and is just now starting to care about her bike!

O yea, and I have wanted to ask if anyone knew of any swimming pool floats that held two kids? Thanks!

 

We just got the boys bubble mowers. Those are fun. Really anything with bubbles. There are all kinds of fun toys that make the bubbles.
Side walk chalk if you have a sidewalk.

ditto the cozy coupes! My girls go crazy for the cozy coupes. Also, kitchen sets. We put water in the sink and the girls splash around and love it. Swings - Little Tikes makes an outside swing, we have one for each of my girls and they love it!

 

We just bought Fisher Price Suzuki 4 wheelers that either have the option to push or it can be motorized with the push of a button. They seem to be a big hit & they caught on nicely.. works well in the grass too. Chalk is also a good idea.. if they don't try to eat it first!

 

I agree with the chalk, bubble mowers, radio flyer wagon for two (or the step 2 wagon). I don't know of any floats that hold two children but that would be cool if there were some out there!

 

We just recently got a water table and it has been a huge hit! Just be prepared for them to get soaked. We also have an art easel with magnetic letters outside and they love to play with that.

 

Our boys loved their Cozy Coupes last year, and are still enjoying them. Some with the ride-on push toys. We are getting the boys trikes for Easter... I'll let you know how that goes over with them. They are about 22 months now.

 

Another vote for the cozy coupe and bubbles. Mine still love their ride on/push Pooh Mobiles.

 

Cozy Coupes (see my avi!), strollers, bubbles, side walk chalk, balls, etc. My girls just got trikes for their birthday and they are pretty into them right now too, but mine are a little older than yours.
