My two will be 5 months old in two weeks. The only toys we have are a Bebe Pod (just one and they take turns, but both like it), their swings, which are usually just if they are getting a little tired or wanting to watch and observe, not really play, a floor mat, and a few rattles/hand toys that little up and make noise. We also have a doorway jumper that they like to sit in for a little bit, but neither really get what to do. I was thinking of getting a few more things.

What are (was) your 5 month old babies' favorite toys?
I know I want to get an exersaucer. What was your favorite and why?

Oh, also, we have one Baby Einstein DVD that they watch at night. (I do bedtime by myself because of DH's schedule. Whoever isn't getting a bath watches the DVD from the floor.)

    TIA!

Hmmm...I'm not sure if my boys have a "favorite" toy quite yet. What they do like are teething rings. Anything they can chomp on! I got the alphabet links from Sassy. I clip those things on ANYTHING! It usually keeps them content for a bit. And then there is this toy...it is by playskool-it rolls and has ducks on it-for some reason-they love it! Kinda funny! They can't do much with it-but they move their hands straight to it. This is it:

We really have a bunch of different toys-some soft, plush alphabet blocks by Parents, as well as another set of blocks from Parents. They have these teethers that they seem to enjoy also:

Honestly-whatever can go in their mouth right now seems to be a hit! My one boy LOVES the jumper. The other one just sits there. He will play with the toys now-which is a good thing!

I would maybe just get an assortment of toys. It's always good to have different toys to switch around. I probably wasn't much help. Hopefully someone else will respond and help you out!

I have already started to baby proof my house -- so I eliminated items from the lower shelves & I put various baskets in those shelves. One I have their toys & I rotate the items. They are playing alot on the floor now ( 5 months).

Mine love the toys that have some rubber parts that they can chew on - they aren't really crazy about the toys that light up or make music, they'd rather have something they can put in their mouths. I also bought them those little arm bands with tiny stuffed animal heads on them (from Babies R Us)...that keeps them from knawing on their hands too much...they also make a rattle noise so they like that too.

Mine loved their Jumperoo, they got a good workout and loved all of the little toys on it. I bought them these cheap little plastic rings that link together and for some reason they loved them they could chew on them. The laugh and learn music table is great, you don't have to put the legs on it right away so they can play with it on the floor when they start sitting up and then you can put the legs on when they start to stand.
