Lately, my girls seem to be really bored with the same old stuff we play with every day. :lazy: They've always loved the play mat and all the animals that hang from it. But now, I have started switching out the hanging things to keep it interesting. They occasionally get in the excersaucer (Aurora is still a little small at 11 lb and BK tends to throw up most times when I put her in it) but I take the toys off and put them on the pallet on the floor and they play with them there. We also have the Baby Einstein soft color blocks that rattle, vibrate and quack and Oballs, which they LOVED for about the first month, but have now lost their luster.

I know I need to get them some new things to peak their interest, but I'm not sure what's the best investment. Any suggestions would be great!

Soft books were a big hit at that age since they could reach for them and put them in their mouths.

It may still be a month or two early, but I really wish we got the activity table way before their first birthday. The legs come off and could have been a lot of fun for tummy time and when they were sitting and not crawling. Something to keep in mind! Other than that, we just had books, mirrors, oballs, blocks, rattles and things to chew on.

Mine are 5 mos old also. We are currently using playmats, bounce seats, blanket time w/ lots of toys & jumperoo. We also have the discovery ball that sing, vibrate, talk and has lots of lights. Somehow they just love everything that they can grab, chew and gotta have lots of lights. During their blanket time, I'll have them facing each other (on tummy) with lots of toys in the middle for them to grab and chew (they'll be content for at least 30 minutes).

We are nearly at 5 mths and we are finding the same, so it is out with the old and in with the new. We have just ordered some the lamaze octopus and elephant, some textured story books, a mobile phone that has lights and sounds, loads of new teething rattles and a jumperoo.
The girls are still content with the multi gym, swing and bouncy chair but they seem to be wanting to explore and chew anything they are not supposed to so we just stocked up on rattles really.

At that age, I used to sit my LOs up on the sofa with toys surrounded by pillows and with someone nearby. They loved it!

I also invested in a playnest which is like a ring you blow up and sit the baby in with their toys. They need to master sitting but this will help them do it. I actually bought the playnest for when we went to the UK, so they´d have something to sit and play in, and I wish I´d bought it earlier! Here´s a picture: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Galt-Playnest/dp/B...8575&sr=1-2

Music and lights were always a big hit with mine. I always used to buy toys ahead of their age, so by 6 months I was buying toys for 6-9 months and its worked out well.
