I know this has been done before but I'd LOVE some help. My b/g twins turn 3 at the end of the September and I am actually planning on spending a decent amount on new toys as I feel we don't have much of ANYTHING....

My daughter is DYING for a stroller that she saw at pottery barn kids so I will get her that and they are both VERY into the baby dolls that they have (they are constantly putting them down for naps, checking on them etc....)

    They currently play with:
    - Their play kitchen (I got them some new Melissa and Doug food)
    - Legos (the big blocks)
    - a plastic shopping cart
    - a little tricycle (that they push with their feet)
    - and some toy cars

Honestly That's IT... I am hoping to add some more structure to our day starting this fall/winter when we can't be outside at the park as much and REALLY feel like we're going to need some more toys to avoid everyone climbing up the wall and would LOVE any suggestions on what your 3 year olds are into....

My girls love their baby strollers and their shopping carts. They also have a little checkout toy and play food so they play store. Other toys they play with a lot lately:

    - Their play kitchen/diner
    - Puppet show theater (Melissa and Doug) and puppets
    - Little people doll house, town, and cars
    - Mr. Potato Heads
    - Magnetic dress up dolls
    - Puzzles

    For outside we have:
    - Bikes
    - Wheel barrows (they love to help 'garden' outside)
    - Cozy Coupes
    - Playset
    - Balls (big beach balls, soccer balls, basket balls)

Cariboo (a Cranium board game) is a great game to get at three. It's my go-to gift for 3 year olds.

At 3 I got my girls their My Little Ponies and they flipped out over them. They played with them all the time and still do. I don't know if your little boy would enjoy them or not, but my girls thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. :D My girls also love their matching game and we started playing more boardgames with them at that time.

Any kind of make-believe toys, especially anything they can use to play store or restaurant.

ART SUPPLIES -- they have free access to nearly everything (except glue and paint) and they wander over there whenever they have 5 minutes free.

We also got Cariboo for their 3rd b'day and they've played it a lot. Now they can use the "Advanced" side of the cards, which they are very proud of.

My boys at 3 love anything Imaginext. They used to have a girl line as well, not sure if they still do...
    Trains
They've gotten into puzzles big time
Fave games are Elefun, memory, and a Cat in the Hat ABC one
    Lacing Cards or stringing beads
    Dress up is HUGE here
    Maybe some sports stuff?

It hasn't put out there yet, and maybe not what you're considering, but what about art stuff? My 3-yr-old loves crayons, sidewalk chalk, even watercolors. There are those books that are black & white until you use plain water on them, and then they start filling in with color...just some thoughts.

He also loves digging - shovels, buckets, you name it. He can't use the trigger on a water gun very well, but he has some other sprayer-type toys that he likes for outside.
