I am in need of some serious help with our toys! We have a livingroom/dining room combination so all of the toys kinda hang out in the living room. We dont have any furniture in the dining room so their is plenty of room for these toys, but they are just sitting on the floor. I have a small orgnanizer but only the infant toys fit in that(like the rattles and chew toys, books, puzzles) The big stuff is always on the floor. Legos, talking chair balls, strollers, babies etc. I dont know what to do with this stuff to make it look like their is a method to this madness!! Any ideas???

We have 2 huge boxes. One is a nicely stained, wooden toybox. All of the toys go in there; if it gets too full then we retire some toys down into the basement. The other box is full of books. One of these days I will get around to buying a bookshelf for the boys....

The toybox isn't perfect because all the small stuff settles down toward the bottom, and the boys do a lot of digging around looking for the certain toys. But the upside is that at the end of the day we can just throw everything in there and close the lid! :good:

The bigger stuff (Cozy Coupes, ride-on toys, toy vacuum cleaner, etc.) get "parked" in a corner next to the dining room table.

Our toys are stored in the playroom and I have a huge plastic storage bin that they can throw all the misc. stuff into. I do plan on getting some storage containers from Ikea to help keep some of the stuff organized. I also have milk crates that I put things in. Good luck!

we had to turn an extra room into a playroom bc all their cr*p became overwhelming.
we have large bins that all the toys get thrown into it and a wall unit where all the toys get shoved into as well. larger items (exersaucers, swings, etc) are along the perimeter of the room.

Itso storage from Target. We have the white plastic bins, they work great! I also have a three drawer cart (sterilite brand) from walmart for the small stuff. Then I keep 2 small plastic bins in the cubby under our tv center for blocks and balls. Usually everything gets tossed into those small plastic bins until they are overflowing and I transfer stuff back into the 3 drawer cart. The walkers and bigger stuff gets lined up along the gate. And we have a bookshelf for the books/puzzles.

Our living room is our "toy room". We clean it every night, and it's a disaster by 11am every day!

Our family room is being used as playroom. Larger items are on the perimeter of the room. We have a bin for the Little People toys and a bin for other toys. We also have a bookshelf that I am starting to store the medium-sized toys on. It's a lot easier to find their toys when they are on the shelves instead of in a bin. Books are also stored on the bookshelf.

Along these lines we are starting to ask them to help us pick up their toys - what all do you do to help encourage them to help clean up?

I try to sing and get them to throw stuff into the containers, but they are only 14 months so it is a slow go!!LOL I'm just sick of looking at this cr%p spread all over my living room! Unfortunately we have a two story house so they have to play downstairs for the most part. I have some toys in the gameroom/office but they wont play up there unless I'm there! Heading to target to find some containers that look good!!!
