It's been on my mind. I think they'd be fun, but my husband doesn't really think they'd be interested and my mother thinks it's a waste of money and that I should just give them pots and pans from my real kitchen to bang around with. I really don't agree with my mother on that one. Cameron's already hurt himself (cut himself on the corner of his eye with a pan lid) when we were staying at a hotel with a kitchen, and he just discovered he can open up drawers and take stuff out. I thought they might find it fun with all the places to put things and play with that would come with a kitchen.

I don't think the issue is that they are boys, but whether or not I should spend the money. These play kitchens can get expensive. However, any toy bought for them is only a guess at what they'd be interested in and can become a waste of money. I just don't know. Play kitchens just seem like they'd be fun. I already feel I missed out on some really fun toys because I was unsure of them then and now kind of regret that decision.

I'm planning on getting my girls a play kitchen for Christmas. I think I'll spend around $100 on it. I figure I can sell it down the road.

I too plan on getting them a kitchen for christmas. My parents bought my neice the full size kitchen from sams club two years ago. She is 3 now and her older brothers are 4 and 8, they ALL play in it still! I don't think you can go wrong with a toy kitchen.

I think its a great idea. the toy sized kitchen is built for kids and meant to be used and played with. the kid sized pots/pans/plates are built to be played with and are light weight so that they won't get hurt with them. sounds like a win-win.

I'm not sure when I'll get one, but I think they will really enjoy it. we have one of the outdoor small house things, and they already love to run in and open the shutters to look at each other... I'm sure they will enjoy the fun of a kitchen and be able to grow into learning to use its features.

I plan getting the kids one for Christmas either as a present or with gift cards that they will get for Christmas and their birthday.

We got this for the girls for Christmas: http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product_id=1218

It was more than we planned on spending but I like that it is big so maybe they won't get in each others way as much. ALso, in talking to other moms that had the kitchens for their kids, most said that their kids played with their kitchens the longest of any of their other toys so that helped in our decision making.

I got one for my kids too, but found one used on craigslist for half the price.
