So, this twin name thing is bugging me sooo much...I really want to have it done and decide on names we both love. DH says "we have tons of time honey" but I really want to have it done...

Today I invited DH to sit down with a cup of tea and go over another short list.

    What do you think??

    _________________________________________________________________

    Lucas (Luke) (my fav)
    Andy (dh's fav)
    Sammy (dh's fav)
    Owen
    Danni
    Jamey
    Kenin (Kenny) (my fav)

    So overall I really like:

    Lucas Allan (Allan after DH)
Kenin Joseph (Joseph after DH's only sibling)

    DH likes:

Andy & Sammy (but I think they are to Yish KWIM? and how would we fit in Allan and Joseph as second names here? Andy Allan & Sammy Joseph? or Andy Joseph and Sammy Allan? doesn't quite feel right to me)

    How about Lucas and Andy?
    Lucas Allen
    Andy Joseph

    Or

    Lucas Allen
    Sammy Joseph

I agree, I don't like for the names to end in the same sound like Andy and Sammy would.

Luke and Sam (my) is really nice, but I totally agree with your choices...but I guess DH should have a say! :) I picked Laud and he picked Creed. I couldn't imagine their names being any different now. Both names have grown on us.

I think Andrew Allan and Samuel Joseph or Andrew Joseph and Samuel Allan are lovely names.

I agree too BUT DH will not go for Andrew or Samuel...he wants JUST Andy and Sammy. Stubborn man! LOL

    What about Anderson and Sampson?
I think Andy is the cutest name ever. I like Lucas as well.
Good luck figuring it out....you'll maybe have to get one name each!

I like these names too BUT once again, DH is so stuck on the short nickname version...I said "it will just be the long version on paper" but he says "no, I don't like the formal names".

    It's tough.

I think I"ll use Kennin but change the spelling to Kennan and then let DH name the other one....(tho I really love Lucas or Lukas) and I really don't like his names. How can we name our child a name we dislike? Argh. It's tough.

Have you tried to convince DH on the important of a formal name? My name is Melissa and I was called Missy growing up. There was a time when I was around 7 to 10 years old when I hated Melissa, because it seemed to girly and I was a tom boy. But now I'm so glad that my official name is not Missy. It's not a name for a professional woman. I feel like that with Sammy and Andy, cute for babies and little boys, but they are going to grow into men who might be doctors or lawyers or even the president. People need a versital name that will grow with them. Andrew can be Andy as a boy, Drew as an rebelous teen, and Andrew as a professional adult. Samuel can grow from Sammy to Sam and back. And as kids, it's also part of how we know that our parents are mad at us, when they call out Sammy come here, vs. Samuel, you come here!

    I TOTALLY agree.

It is important to look beyond the baby years to understand the need for an adult name. I can't imagine a business profession as sammy. I guess I see sam as a boy's name and sammy more as a girls name.

I think you have some great names to choose from.

Me too....I've officially changed it on my list.

As for DH, I did talk to him about the importance of more formal names on paper and he hummed and awwed about it. He's so stubborn sometimes.

I think I might have to put my foot down and say yes to Andy only if it's Anderson on paper. I cannot use Andrew as it's my DH's best buddies name.... My 3 year old is Alexander so that Anderson would sound good I think.

    Alexander
    Anderson
    Kennan

    Sounds good to me! ;)

Oh I really like Anderson! I hope your dh goes for it. Picking names is so hard when you can't agree isn't it??

3 Great names! Good luck on getting your husband on side.....or you could always do what I did and not discuss (middle) names at all with my husband because I knew he didn't like the name I had my heart set on. So I waited until I had just had no.2, a drug free vag birth, and then said to him 'And her middle name is Finlay and don't you dare argue with me after what I have just done.' She is Adelaide Finlay. And he still complains about it to this day!
