I am so exhausted lately, it's really unbelievable. I've read that this is normal, but just wondered if anyone else really felt this way? I just hit the 27 week mark yesterday and I have zero get up and go. My poor 2 year old spent almost the whole day watching cartoons as I sat semi-comatose in my armchair. Last week, I mustered up the energy to take him to the park and do a few activities, but there was no way that was happening today. Normally I'm a pretty ambitious person, and there's so much I'd love to do, but there's just no way! I thought I might be anemic, but my doctor checked and said I'm fine.

I'm lucky that I haven't had any complications yet and I have no restrictions on my activities. Is anyone else like this? Is there a way to get some more energy?

I'm not as far along as you are, but I do understand about the bone crushing fatigue. I have found that when I over do, or push myself too hard it takes me 2-3 days to recover. It's awful. I know you've heard this, but drink plenty of fluids and then drink some more. Personally, I found in previous pregnancies that if I did not eat enough protein I had a hard time making it through the day. Rest when you can, and don't forget to take naps when your little one does.

That's a good point about the protein.. I'm going to try that tomorrow, and maybe that'll help. I keep forgetting to up the protein intake. I'm more of a carb addict. Thanks!

I have noticed this the last two weeks also. It just hit me all of a sudden. I was doing great and able to do some things- and was still working, but then it hit me like a brick wall! So now I am off work, and mustering through each day, trying to keep my 2 year old entertained! And nap when he does :p

I especially started feeling this way at 27.5 weeks, basically just coming up on the third trimester. The third trimester is supposed to be more tiring during pg, especially when carrying twins. I just realized that I would have to rest more and would not be able to do as much as I was able to during the second trimester. HTH.

    I'm 26w1d and I work full-time at a treatment center for alcoholics/drug addicts.
I wake up at 6:30 AM, get home at 5:30 PM. Make something to eat, possibly watch some tv, take a shower, and am in bed usually by 8:30 PM.
I spend my saturdays & sundays sleeping all day on and off.

I just feel like everything is so monotenous and I am extremely fatigued. You do what you gotta do- but I feel ya, chick :)

I'm having the same problem right now. Many days I spend all day in bed and rarely leave the house but for a couple of hours. I'm going to try more protein in my diet now, too. Maybe that will help! My son is 15 months, and I feel so bad for him. He needs me to have energy.

For the past few days I've been eating more protein and I've also been taking an iron supplement and I feel 100% better. I still have to take it easy, but I've come out of the semi-comatose state that I was in. Thank goodness! It was brutal...

That's really good to hear! I'm happy you are feeling better. I totally blanked about anemia and fatigue, that's an excellent point. (I'd rather be in a coma than try to keep an iron supplement down... the little girl in the exorcist has nothing on me when it comes to iron!)

I totally feel you, I have felt the same way. It is impossible to get off the couch. I have been fortunate enough to be restriction free and I am in my 26th week.
I feel like the laziest person alive, right now. DH has to help me up and I feel like he does most of the work. We are cat sitting this weekend (my cousin is doing the 3 day breast cancer walk) and DH is the one who is chasing after her 6 week old kitten (not that he minds...). I just want to sleep all the time!

I remember I would just come home and go to sleep. Carrying twins is hard work.

I ALSO REMEMBER BEING EXTREMELY TIRED AROUND THAT TIME. I COULD NOT DO ANYTHING BUT SLEEP AND NAP. IT WAS HARD CUZ I FELT SO GUILTY, BUT YOU CAN'T HELP IT, YOUR BODY IS WORKING SO UNBELIEVABLY HARD RIGHT NOW......YOUR BUILDING 2 OTHER PEOPLE! SO JUST REST AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, IT'S GOOD FOR THE BABIES. YOU'LL GET SOME ENERGY BACK IN A FEW WEEKS FOR A BIT, THEN YOU LOSE IT ALL AGAIN. LOL.

I'm on iron for anemia and I am still half-dead to the world anymore. I figure it's just one of the joys of the third trimester... <_<
