I was miserable last night! A tooth on my right side on bottom was throbbing SO bad. I got up at midnight to brush my teeth, hoping it was just something stuck in one, but no such luck... I took tylenol and that did calm it down a bit... I feel like this pregnancy is taking a toll on me.... first migraines, and now a toothache! Gosh, compared to this, my twin pregnancy was so much easier! This little one has it in for me... she/he is already taking after his/her brothers!! I am going to schedule an appt. at the dentist... if it has to be pulled... I wonder what the procedure they use is for pregnant women, as far as numbing it and all. Does anyone know? Thanks so much!
I'm so sorry!! Toothaches are the worst!!! And you think the pain's never going to end. I've heard the the novacaine is okay for pregnant women, but i just did a goodle search and found that it's not really that safe - check out this site: http://parenting.ivillage.com/pregnancy/ps...0,,3xkq,00.html. There may be alternative drugs. Maybe call your OB before you go to the dentist - the dentist my not be that up to date. good luck!
Toothache pain is horrible I had to have a root canal when I was pregnant with the boys. They gave me novacaine I just could not have x rays. Danielle
i was always told to gargle warm salt water. it helps get rid of the pain. and it doesn't cost anything--lol. i had a gentic disorder with my teeth that my mother and grandmother had also that started when we had our first children. our teeth literally started falling out of our heads. started crumbling while we brushed our teeth and then huge holes and cavities, and eventually we had to have the whole top row pulled. my grandma had both top and bottom pulled and had dentures at 24 years old and my mom had her whole top row pulled and got dentures at 16 years old. as for me, mine lasted until i was 25 but had to have the top row pulled 2 months before i found out i was pregnant with our twins. with my first three pregnancies i always had lock jaw 3 times with my daughter and several tooth aches but no dentist would take out the culprit until i had my baby. i was told that they would not work on pregnant women because there was a risk that the baby would suffer or that if something was wrong they were responsible. also that i couldn't get the X-rays. yet you can get prescriptions for the pain which can be called in but i would ask your ob to recommend a good dentist and make sure they know that you are expecting. good luck and Lots of love! meshell

WOW... well I guess that should give you hope that it is going away. But becareful I have heard of women getting absesed teeth while prego because of calcium deficiencies.
