Lauren did it too and I was the same way...ready to climb the walls. I unintentionally yelled STOP one time and she cried so hard, poor baby. I really wasn't yelling at her, just sort of reacted because it went right up my spine. I didn't find anyway to stop her but it did last a few weeks.

Count me in! Jonah does this. He has 4 top teeth, but ONE bottom tooth. He grinds that bottom tooth up against the top, and it is like nails on a chalkboard. He didn't do it today (knock on wood) so maybe it was just a week or so of driving Mommy crazy! :)

OMG!!!! I remember that phase!!! It was aweful. Lorien used to do it all the time. It went on for a good month or so. She only seemed to do it when those first bottom and top teeth came in. I used to cringe when she did it and would even stick her pacifier in her mouth to stop her from doing it but she would still do it even with the paci in her mouth. It was like running finger nails down the chalk board Eeeeeeeeek!!!

My oldest daughter did that too. It was awful. I would quickly distract her by tickling her, playing with her etc., so she would stop and not get used to doing this terrible habit. It did brake it quickly. Giving her attention for it the first couple of days only made it worse and that is when I resorted to the distractions. Good Luck!

Both of my DGS's are doing it... they have 8 teeth each and make funny little faces as they grind away.

Yuk! - us, too, with the twin that has enough teeth to grind. She doesn't do it as much anymore, so hopefully we're coming out of it.
