Hello everyone! I had to take my one daughter to the ped yesterday. She hasn't been going to the bathroom all that well and has been very fussy while eating. I have a few quick questions. . .
    1. How much did your twins weigh @ 4 months?
At 3 1/2 months, my one daughter who was 4 lbs. 12 oz. at birth weighed 14 lbs. 8 oz. I feel like she gains weight soooo quickly and she hasn't even been eating very well. Have I been overfeeding her??
    2. Do you try and feed your kids the same amount every feeding?
    3. Did you ever switch to level 2 size nipples? If so, when?

    Thanks,
    Jen

At 4 months the boys weighed, according to their scale, just under 12lbs. They were preemies (31 weeks) and weighed 3.12 and 4.1. A week later we put them on the scale at home and they both weighed 14lbs. I wouldnt worry about the weight. Sound like they are doing good there. Of course it wont be another month until next weigh in so we will prob do it on the home scale again soon lol.

As for feeding I let them eat how ever much they want. It can be anywhere from 2oz to 5oz at a time.

With nipples I have trouble. The boys dont like the silicone ones so Ive been using the rubber ones. We got a crap load from the hosp. When I had to put oatmeal in there bottles I just widened the nipple hole. As long as your babies dont have choking problems you could try stage 2. Just go with your instincts, if you think they will do better then go ahead.

At 4 months, my DD, who was 5lbs 6oz at birth, weighed 13lbs and my DS, who was 4lbs 14oz at birth, weighed 15lbs 7oz. I think you are seeing fantastic growth...not too much.

My babies have never eaten the same amount. DD started out eating more than my DS, but he quickly took her over and now eats at least 4 oz more than she does a day. They really just have different dietary needs.

I didn't switch to a size 2 nipple until 5 months for no reason other than I didn't want to spend the money on them. I don't think that my babies would have had any problem with them sooner though. Per the PP, you have to kind of gauge each baby to their ability.

At four months my boys weighed 16-10 and 18.-1. They were 6-9 and 6-2 at birth. James (the smaller baby) has always eaten less than Evan per feeding but lately it is evening off. My guys CANNOT handle the size 3 nipple - we're stuck at size 2. But that's okay with me. Evan is the slowest eater in the world and James is a speed demon. (we switched to size two when they were 5 weeks old - I didn't have any trouble going from 1 to 2 but they can't handle 3)

At 4 months Kyle was 17 pounds 13 ounces. They never ate the same amount. I did switch to size 2 for Kyle, Kayla used preemie nipples the entire year. I believe I switched right around 4 months because the other nipples were not fast enough for him.

at 4 months A was 20 lbs and N was 15lbs. In the beginning A took more formula than N but now they take the same amount.

We just had our 4 month appt---

Ella is 12 lbs 3 oz --- Started at 5 lb 1 oz
    Addison is 12 lbs 6 oz--Started at 5 lb 4 oz
    Both born at 36 weeks.

From the numbers you can see every baby is different!! It doesn't sound like you are giving too much food and it sounds like your babies are right on track. You are doing a great job!

I can't relate to the nipple size since mine our breastfed (my nipples are always the same size ;) )
