For the past week, my son has wanted to each 7 oz (which is normal), then seems to want more, so I pour another 2 oz. and he finishes that without hesitation...9 oz's seem like ALOT in his little belly (granted he weights about 18 lbs), but 9 oz of fluid?? Geesh.

Maybe I should start feeding solids 2x a day for him (currently only do it 1x in the mid morning)....do you think I should feed 2x a day? Does 9 seem like alot to you too? His runt sister (who weights about 14.5 lbs) only drinks about 6 oz.'s...

As a side note, he's eating solids great...she's still not too into it and for every 1 spoonful I put in her mouth, I have to scrape her face with the spoon about 4 times...she's spitting out more than she takes in so I'm not forcing her...she doens't seem ready yet...while he does.

I dunno...any thoughts on the bottle amt or more solids for him?

ozPersonally I would add aother solids meal to his day. Maybe a small snack before his bedtime bottle. 9oz is a lot.

My monster boy sometimes took 9oz at bedtime until he started tanking up on solids. I'd go ahead and add another solid feeding. We went to three solid feedings (right after bottles at 8 noon and 4) then bedtime bottle a little before 8 pm.

I would probably add a solids meal in the evening as well, but if he still wants a 9 oz bottle, I would probably give it to him. It's a lot, but if he's drinking it & keeping it all down maybe he needs it. :pardon:

At 5 months, I added a second solid meal and it seemed to help limit the amount of time they nursed before bed. I would add another solid meal and see if he still wants 9oz. He may just be growing and need a little more food for a couple days.

Although my boys are only 4.5 months but I have to agree with the others. 9 oz seem like a lot of milk! :)
I would definitely add another solid to the daily routine.
(Btw. your babies are the same size as mine...lol)
