My babies are 8 months, and they seem to still really need a lot of formula. When I have tried to drop a bottle and give them more solids, they are screaming in hunger in about an hour. I am not sure what to do with their feeding schedule.
    Any ideas?

    Here is their schedule:

    630 am bottle 8oz
    10:00 am bottle 8oz
12:30 lunch of about a jar of food each
    3:00 bottle 8oz
    430pm jar of food
    630pm bottle 8oz
    10:30pm bottle 8oz

My boys are also 8 months and this is our schedule....hope it helps

    6:30 8oz bottle

    9:00 baby cereal w/applesauce

11:30-12:00 casserole of some kind, fruit, cottage cheese or yogurt

    3:00 8 oz bottle

5:00 casserole or sometimes scrambled eggs, fruit, cottage cheese or yogurt

8:00 8oz bottle and then BED!

*I also give them cheerios and cut up pancakes along with a meal to keep them busy while I am reheating/getting things ready

Maybe try giving them lunch earlier-mine are usually howling by 11:00?? We are doing table food w/hamburger in it-I think it keeps them fuller than baby food. Do you have a little food grinder?? I got mine from Target and use it a lot for big chunks of food.

    Good luck :D

I usually give my girls a jar of food (4oz) and then a bottle an hour and a half later before their nap. They only take 6oz, but they're still little.
Have you tried putting some rice cereal in with the jar of food to give it a little more? I'm not sure, doesn't really sound to me like they are taking too much, maybe it's a growth spurt related thing?

Might want to give your pediatrician a ring?

I'd add a feeding of solids at breakfast and get rid of the 10pm bottle, see if it helps. It does seem like a lot of formula. Lots of babies eat more than one jar at a time too... Like, one jar of veggies then half a jar of fruit, plus some cereal. You could try that.

I would think add cereal to your 10am feed with some fruit and some cereal at your last meal-push the 6:30pm bottle to 7:30pm and bed at 8 pm they shouldnt need a 10 pm feed at 8 mos with an increase in solids--thats what i did for both my boys and added yougurt at 9 mos for morning snack with some fruit!
See if that helps thier appetites:)

I think that much formula is fine. Mine were big formula eaters too. But I might also try and do a solids meals about an hour after the morning bottle and work on dropping the 10:30 bottle at some point. GL!

Thanks for the advice. I will try your suggestions. I was hoping to drop that 1030 bottle soon...my husband thinks they need it to sleep (I think they just wake up because they are used to it)

That's what I was going to say too. I wish I could get mine to take 8 ounces of formula at one time! My girls are almost a year and I'm lucky if I get them to take 6 ounces.
