Too late to turn back now

It's crazy that I am comfortable taking the kids just about anywhere by myself (shopping, the park, out to eat, you name it!), but just the thought of a flight alone with the two of them makes me break out in a cold sweat! What am I going to do with them while I install the car seat? Leave them in a stoller at the gate by themselves screaming bloody murder? (at least I will know they are still there.... :)) Let them roam the plane picking up and eating who knows what? Duck tape them to the nearest surface? :) Strap them in to a seat and hope they don't figure the buckle out before I get the seat installed? And how am I possibly going to manage to get both of them, the carseat, the carry ons and all of it on the plane by myself without leaving something or someone unattended? Actually the thought of the madness makes me cackle at the insanity and chaos that is sure to errupt. How did I ever think this was a good idea? I am going to be pleasantly surprised by a seamless and unventful trip right?

Or should I just take solace in the fact that it's a relatively short flight, and the chances that ever see any of these people again is nil? What was I thinking!?!?

    I am hoping so!! :)

Yep, you should do that, too. We had a horrible flight last year that has scarred me for life, but I hope yours goes GREAT!!

You should request assistance from the airline. They always have people that can help. You should also allow every person who throws the pity look your way to help with anything they can!
Hand them your bags, and your carseats. Babywear at least one of the twins. Buckle the other in the seat next to the place you are securing the car seat.
make friends with the flight attendants
You are going to do just fine and when its over, I want to hear all about it :)

I haven't done it, but I heard somewhere that you can request that a family member or friend get a security pass or something to be able to come through security and at least to the gate with you. If they aren't allowed on the plane, you could leave the stroller and kiddies at the door while you go load up then go back and get them. I don't know if it has an official name or anything...you could call the airline directly and ask. Have fun, you are braver than I!

You can do this!! It is a pain in the neck to juggle everything, but not impossible. I would suggest putting them in the seat right next to you while you install the seat. Put them closest to the window with a snack, sippy, book, something to keep them occupied. I was blown away by all the offers for extra hands when I flew alone with my girls so maybe you will get offers of assistance also.

GL!!! I know someone on TS used the Go-Go Kidz car seat attachments so she wheeled them on and then just put them in the seat without taking them out of the carseat. I remember reading that and thinking thats genius!

If thats not an option, just put them in the seat next to you while you install the seat. You can block them with your body and give them a snack, sippy, in flight magazine, etc. That will give you some time to install the seat(s). And I'm sure there will be people who will offer help too.

GL and have a safe trip!
