    Hi!!..

Well I thought nursing was going well until about two weeks ago. My twins are now 3 1/2 months old and I feel they are too big for the pillow. My back aches and it is so hard to take one off, burb, etc. lift back on, etc... They still get gassy...
I tried to nurse them separately but they don't nurse so quickly yet, it takes about 15 mintues for one 25 minutes for the other. Will they ever nurse for about 5-10 minutes and be done? Are there other ways I can tandem nurse?
Help!! I am seriously thinking about quitting.

I still nurse mine on the pillow, they are the same age. They like to hang off the sides with their feet as they nurse. I don't fasten the pillow but just let it sit there. When I need to burp I take both off and set them on the couch to one side and then burp both, change them adn then go bakc and finish the second round. 15 min is probablly pretty normal for one to nurse. The other could speed up. THey should always eat more than 5 min. They can't get enough milk that fast. It would take at least 10 min for a bottle, so I don't think that would help. SOme babies will just be gassy. It tends to be worse on bottles so stopping wont help that. Just remember the convience of not fixing bottles. I hope you don't give up. You have made it through the hard part. Congrats. You can do it.

I still use the EZ-2, couldn't imagine not using it, lol!! Have you tried putting a little blanket or pillow under each side of the EZ-2, it helps keep it better supported, I still do that.

Hmm, I'm not quite getting how they're too big? of course they are probably longer than the pillow, most babies wrap themselves around you, or just rest their feet up on the couch. Are you strapping in and sitting all the way back on the couch? Sitting up without support for you would be really hard! I always strap in, and scoot all the way back and sit cross-legged. I hope you find a more comfy position soon!

We still use the EZ here too! As pp mentioned, I can't imagine not using it!

I know I did have a little trouble (I think right around the age yours are at) where they were getting heavier, but couldn't really hold their little heads up and combine that with my long torso = major back pain! My posture still hasn't recovered! But seemed to get better over time. I would also put a blanket under the pillow to help elevate it a little more. That helped a lot too.

Hang in there, it does get better! My girls now nurse for about 5-10 minutes at a time. And get so excited when they see the pillow

I used my ez2nurse pillow to the day I weaned. They were 25.5 months old! I can't imagine them outgrowing it. I was worried back then that they'd get too big, but like the PP's have stated, they do wrap their legs around your back. It's amazing how adaptive they are when you have something they want!

I sit on my couch (on the end) and prop on up against the arm of the couch and the other with a couch pillow and prop my legs up on the ottoman. I am doing this right now as a matter of fact! it will get easier as they get a little less "floppy"

I use a footstool to get my knees up. The boys are about 25 pounds and 36" and still tandem in a double football hold with the EZ. They find places to put their legs. I should take a picture of my pillow, though... it's a ratty mess!

It sounds like we're the minority here, but I know EXACTLY what you mean. The hole in the pillow is so big around me that they end up rolling into the "pit" that it creates. I tried scooting forward, back, stuffing blankets between my waist and the pillow, everything! It is ridiculously FRUSTRATING! Finally I decided that it just wasn't worth the effort and now I just use pillows so that I can put them closer to my body. It's been gravy ever since then. I personally prefer not to tandem because now they are so grabby and my Caleb likes to keep his distance from Braxton at meal time (actually at most times). It's just easier during the day and outings to do one at a time for me. So basically I'm not really helping you at all. Just letting you know I know what you mean:)

We had this problem, particularly at the beginning when the girls were tiny (I used to roll up towels). But then I learned to push the nursing pillow all the way back against myself and do up the clips - so there is no gap - and sit with my back against something tall and narrow so that the arms of the EZ2 nurse had somewhere to go.

Basically what I do is put a beanbag style boppy behind my back so that the arms come around my side on the floor (I sit on a mattress on the floor with my legs crossed). The back of the boppy provides back support for me, the ends of the arms of the EZ2 nurse go either side of it, and they rest upon the arms of the boppy. We still use the EZ2 nurse every day!

My twins are 14 months and we still use the pillow, are you letting their legs extend or propping them up so they fit you?
