Okie dokie, we've put this off long enough, my girls are over 16 months old and still get a bedtime bottle. But now, instead of lay down and drink it, they stand up and drink it and then throw it outside their pnp when they're done, and play a bit before laying down to go to sleep. To me, that's a pretty good sign that they can do without nighttime bottles. So tonight's the night! Wish me luck, all!

Good luck!! I just ended my DD bottle and she's going to be 2. I hope it works out for you.

Good luck! [IMG] Are you replacing the bottle with a small sippy of milk? Or do you plan to take away anything before bed?

At around 13 months I transitioned my girls off the bottle onto only sippy cups. Currently they have 3 sippies of milk a day [between bkfst and lunch, after their nap, and before bed]. I don't think we are quite ready to take away that last sippy of milk just yet - however it probably would take away the problem of having over-flowing pee pee diapers in the AM. [and we use the overnights! [IMG]]

good luck! I'm sure that's a good signal of them throwing it out! I'm still nursing, so they get some breastmilk at night, but they don't nurse to sleep or anything. And I usually just give them a banana "nana nana"... so cute, to split... then off to bed. I figure it should help to fill their tummies up. AND no bottles or sippies to wash! YAY!

I hope it went well!!! We took away bottles when the girls were 18 months, but just replaced them with sippies. I'm not brave enough to do away with their sippies yet b/c it's what gets them to sleep (they have them before nap time & bed time).

well i've survived it so far, in fact it's been rather painless. however- i have been giving them sippie cups just because they've both got respiratory infections and i want them to stay really hydrated, but the sippies will go once they're feeling better. yay, no more baba's!
